Monster World Legends

I've been working on a a way for all systems to play it. For a while now some people can't seem to play it. Everything will change soon so just hang in there.

There is also a lot going on in the game behind the curtains. I don't remember the last time i posted anything about this game due to several reasons, but within the next week or so I can resume progress on the game and finish it this year. I'm glad to have you as a new subscriber and keep in touch:)

Lufia VI:Echoes of Estoland

I have been doing some work on the project. Now that I'm more experienced with the 2003 engine, I may start making remaking lots of things that were cluttered before such as the mapping and battle system.Otherwise, everything is going great! I want to release a demo, but the game is a mess right now with lots of test areas, and learning examples.

The IP system and character swtich system are my biggest problems though. I want to make it so that when you get hit, you receive IP and when you switch characters out, you can switch them back only. I wish the Lufia creators here could all collaborate and make a Lufia Maker engine in RPG maker 2003 that combines everything in the series.

That way, we have a default engine to use for Lufia games and all the creator had to do was make it their own by customization. I'll give a progress report soon also.

Monster World Legends

Its not a real sequel, its a fangame sequel. Its sort of like how People make unofficial fan games to series that are dead or are no longer making series. An example of this is Lufia V:For the Savior(a Lufia fan game here).
The game continues on to what the creator believes should happen next in the series.

And yes, please help me with the voices:) I finally started building the world now and its very fun. There are a HUGE variety of platforms,Items,Hazards, and other things that will make level building a blast.

Thanks for your thoughts:) I will definitely change this. Although, the cross over idea does sound good. The game already has Asha, Shion, Sonic, and Alex Kidd in it as extra playable characters. Or, I could change it to another time in MW where other characters' worlds collide, but it won't be the fifth in the series.

@MarkusT-Popful Mail is planned to be in the game, but Lydia is NOT Mail. Her appearance is inspired by a mixture of Popful Mail, Maxim from Lufia II,Adol from the Ys series, and Rubia from Tales of the Tempest. However, Mail Does appear in this game too:)

I was originally going to use her Sega CD sprites, but they are too big compared to the scale of other characters, so I will have to re-make the Super Nintendo version of her. I may also add Tatto and Gaw too.

Those "houses" at the back look like something from Saint Seiya.

I've never heard of Saint Seiya. I just looked it up and this may be something I should look further into. Thanks for mentioning this orochii:)

@orochii- Thank you:) The original game area looks just like this, but it looks more beautiful here because of the gradient background.

@wltr3565- I do to! I wish this series could be revived and re-imagined. My image is a Mario game with much more character abilities and fighting. The whole goal I'm trying to achieve is to make a Monster World game while cherry-picking the best ideas in games I've experienced over the years.

Boxing Glove skill?
I like those icons :)

The boxing glove increases your attack power by 2 every time you get one, but the sword doubles attack power. And thank you:) Some of the icons are from the original game, but others are custom.

Wow! This menu has significantly improved:D There is so much detail and I believe this is all custom sprite work. It looks great! I love it when you keep track of a project and watch it grow and change over its time until completion. Good luck on the rest of this game's development!

Lol I hate to be the one to necropost but this looks good, I'm glad it wasn't COMPLETELY cancelled, and it seems to have a lot of potential! Good luck!

By the way, if anyone ever finds out how to emulate the battle system from Lufia FOD, PM me and give me details, lol!

The Battle System in Lufia FOD was very similar to Final Fantasy IV, except enemies couldn't attack while you made your decisions. So, its like Final Fantasy's ATB on wait mode instead of active.

Various Updates

Ah, the Genesis era, and even the Sega CD! You really paid attention to those classic details. The days when Sega was still "This may not work, but what the hell".

Don't worry, we still can wait. Just make our wait worth it, okay? ;)

Sure thing:) I have the 48 stages already planned out and everything. All I have to do now is make more characters, polish the existing ones, and make stages. After all this time, I've been planning and experimenting with the game. Now, I'm starting to put some dents into it with designing new levels. And I loved the Sega CD! Popful Mail and Sonic CD are among some of my favorite side-scrollers. Lately, I've been listening to the Soundtrack from Sonic CD (both american and japanese) to see one of the things that made it so great in the first place.

You may not care, but my favorite songs are Stardust Speedway and Quartz Quadrant (Japanese Good Future Versions). They are really peaceful songs and they will be some of the songs I choose to put in the MP3 version of this game. I really hope people enjoy this game once its done, because it has been a real journey designing it.
