Hmm... I've never been a fan of sliding after the arrow key is released. It makes precise positioning and landing harder and may lead to frustrating falls that aren't completely the player's fault. So I'm not sure if that change would be a good addition to the game...
But I like how some of the Castlevania games create an illusion of weight and balance without the sliding: They add a couple of animation frames that show the character breaking abruptly. It could be an alternative to consider.

Upgrades sound good.
Keep up the great work! :D

I'm not really a fan of it either. The good thing is, the stop will be almost instant. Maybe it won't even be changed. I just want to make this to be as close to the originals as possible. In the end, I will probably change this engine into "Monster World Maker". Castlevania games do that pretty well. Is Symphony of the Knight good?

Upcoming Semi-Final Demo and a Serious Tester Request

How can I help?
Glad you asked:) What would help me the most is testing the stages. Don't go to the "Adventure Mode" unless you want to travel on foot. Once you start the game, I would like you to go to the orange arrow and select a stage to play. This mode has more stages available than adventure mode and before you play the game, read some of the files included in the package.

Most stages I tried to make as solid in concept and design as possible, but there are certain ones that are old and have to be remade. However, I added them in anyway. Also, certain stages may be slow due to them having too many objects such as Ship Fortress and Bamboo Marsh.

What Videogames Are You Playing Right Now?

I am currently playing Final Fantasy VIII. I'm about 8 hours into it and the game is pretty good:) However, the only thing bothering me is the battle pace. Even set in "Active" and "Fast" the battles still drag on. I also don't like the fact that most of the fights rely solely on summons(having to watch them over and over to win a boss fight).
In case you didn't already know, you can hold down Select whilst GF animations play to bring up the Boost "minigame". There is a description of the minigame here.

I always thought it was a neat bit of game design; giving you something to do whilst the flashy animation plays!

Thanks for the tip! This makes the game so much better:) Also, I enjoy the interaction it gives where you can make your attack stronger by pulling the trigger.

After this, I only have to finish FFX and I will have finished the first 10 games in the series and FF12. I Think its time for me to retire this series, but I'll wait until I beat the FF7 remake. There is also a game called "World of Final Fantasy" coming out for PS4. It looks pretty interesting.

Final Fantasy X
Valkyrie Profile:Lenneth
Dragoneer's Aria
Persona 3 Portable
Dark Cloud 2
Final Fantasy VII(as a celebration of the announced remake)
Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology 3 (English Patched)

Upcoming Semi-Final Demo and a Serious Tester Request

Thank you guys for helping out! The demo is planned to be released within the next couple days or so. I'm going to need a lot of help testing for this game's final chapters. I am looking for 3 main things; level design, character playability, and overall challenge.

Monster World Legends

This reminds me a whole lot of Wonder Boy in monster world and Wonder Boy 3 on sega master system! Subbed this looks awesome!

I must be doing my job then:) I'm trying my best to cherry-pick the best elements of the series and put it all into one. You could also think of this as Monster World Generations.

Progress Report and Possible Engine Giveaway

Thanks buddy:) Have faith in me and hang on just a bit longer. Cherry picking the best elements of this franchise and genres wasn't easy, but I finally know what I want and now I'm going for it.

Lufia VI:Echoes of Estoland

Can't seem to think of one. I think the basic way is to use emails. I usually check mine daily. The folders would merge. The first thing that should be done is getting all the resources together. However, the only tileset I know is missing is the underwater chipset(which includes the mermaid town). If I can't find it, ill have to play the game to that point on an emulator and rip it myself.

I wouldn't mind playing the game again.

Lufia VI:Echoes of Estoland

It looks decent! When do you think it will be fully translated?

Reaching a new destination

I can see why people making RPGs have so much trouble. Enemies are a large part of a game's development. For me its frustrating because this is my 3rd time reprogramming every enemy! Every time I find a better way of doing something, I have to go back and remake everything to fit with the new information.

AI is a pain and Ive run this game well over 1000 times. I love making this, but at times it can be a total nightmare.
