DRENRIN2120'S PROFILE

I like to mess around with pixels and pretend I'm really good at being creative. I also hike, travel, write songs, play music, make pizza, eat pizza, drink coffee, drink more coffee, and enjoy long walks on the beach.

[RMVX ACE] Looking for ruby language tutorials

Presumably, if you can understand the language, you can quite literally read the scripts to see what they do. The toughest part would be getting a handle on the classes and vocabulary. I'm quite new to all of this too, so I apologize, I'm not certain of the exact syntax I'm looking for. But yeah, best way to familiarize yourself with how RMVX/ace handles things is to jump right in and examine how it's all put together!

Hand drawn TIE Fighter fan-made anime

If this was what the Star Wars animated series was, I'd binge watch it so hard.

Whatchu Workin' On? Tell us!

Thanks Dookie, I updated the post with a more complete version.

Also, that video of your intro was really well done. I loved it!

Hand drawn TIE Fighter fan-made anime

This is insane.

Except the music... the music was not insane... or fun to listen to.

Whatchu Workin' On? Tell us!

My first panorama/backdrop/landscape thang.

Has anyone made an online service made to inform parents about weather a game is OK for their child a lot

"New study shows coffee cures hemorrhoids."

I mean, I don't want to be the guy that dumps all over studies, they can be very important. But source, bias, and method are seriously important lest you want to end up like the McCarthy's of the world.

Screenshot Survival 20XX

I've found single colors can sometimes be better for low-res. Though blindmind is right, it couldn't hurt trying to mess around in photoshop or gimp. Also, that yellow is just terrible. It looks like MSPaint default yellow. I'd really suggest finding a less striking color. I don't know, maybe it's just me, but I really don't like that color. :s

rm2k3 map exporter (that does events too)

I've run across a similar problem. The best way I found to fix this was to set the hero transparency on and take screenshots all around the map, then in an image editing program, stitch them all back together. It's a bit tedious but works just fine. Then you can resize it to whatever you need. I haven't found a program that does what you're asking and I don't think one exists.

French Cartoons are Awesome

I always loved this clip. Not sure how I found it, though.

[Release Something! Day XIII] Feedback Thread

@drenrin2120 I've given Opus a try and it seems like a lot of fun, but I'm having a lot of trouble with it. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or not, but my first time playing through, I lost the second fight because I didn't know my fighters were dead. They were still in combat position. A few fights later, I beat an enemy guard and lost the game.

Hmm... It's not anything you're doing. I'll take a look at the death handler, but I was under the impression it was working fine. Also, for the enemy guard you lost, are you saying you beat him and then the gameover screen played? That would be very odd but if that's what's happening it'll help me pin point the problem.

EDIT: Ah! I see the problem. If you don't revive your KO'd party members before entering a new battle, their sprites don't change to the KO'd pose. Thanks for pointing this out, can't believe I missed it.
