Couldn't you just make visual novels with rpg maker as it is? Of course super animated ones as shown above are not possible, but the basic ones?

Okay! I found the solution! I'm posting it here in case someone else runs into the same problem:

I may have found solution, thanks to @Ghostsniper64 image, referring to line 1577 on YEP_BattleEngineCore.js may or may not have conflict with rpg_managers.js on line 2222,
Changed BattleManager.refreshAllMembers(); to BattleManager.endTurn(); seems to work. But other effect or instability is unknown, this may be a quick fix but maybe it's better to wait for Yanfly official update

Well, something's definitely set up wrong.

I know it says the error is happening in the BattleEngineCore plugin, but check and make sure that the game works if you disable the BattleEngineCore plugin and leave everything else how it is right now.


Everything works just fine if I disable BattleEngineCore. I tried disabling all the other plugins and only left BattleEngineCore running, but it still crashes. I also tried creating a completely new project with only this BattleEngineCore running and still it's crashing........

I got few other scripts/plugins running, but they shouldn't interrupt with the Battle Engine. I got one for lighting effects and another for main menu portraits.

When using YEP BattleEngineCore plugin on RM MV I get this error message after the first turn has passed in battle with the playable characters and the enemies having finished their moves.

Here's what F8 brings up:

The error occurs even if I don't tinker with any of the plugin settings. Really troublesome :/ I'd be really grateful if someone would come up with a solution.

@Feldschlacht IV, I'm really liking the look there. Reminds me of FF VI a lot with the graphics and the window style.. or Square's FF6-Chrono Trigger era anyway. That's my favourite 2d rpg-era, so yay ^^

@MarkusT, This is really weird throw-back in time, but your tileset brought back memories of RPG Maker 95 :D It had similar shaprness to it's graphics. It's all good, I like sharp pixels.

@Punkitt, I've been seeing your screens for some time now, this game definitely looks interesting. I'm kinda envious you got a project where it seems you can make any kinds of worlds you can think of.

@LockeZ, yea true. the pillars are a bit funny.. I wanted an illusion of tunnels having a sort of curved feel, but it doesn't really look right atm. I'll see what I'm gonna do about those, then again I'm not against distorted feel. I'd just need to have more weirdly distorted stuff there.

@Cap_H, This game is probably gonna have more things in common with Darkest Dungeon as well. At least from what I've heard. Never played the actual game ^^

@Colt, holy shit! You're the guy who used to make those Pokemon shoot-em-ups, no? I just realized you got yourself in those games as well. I really liked em' so definitely interested in your game! This game is looking really great.

^ Those are looking pretty close to what I'd imagine original LS looking like on MV. I'm really excited about your project there, Legion Sagas were among my favourites back in the day! Altho LS2 is my favourite ;)

I'm also transitioning to RMV as of lately. I'm really liking the higher resolution, so I started redoing all my graphics from my VX project.

@Roots, that tileset looks awesome! I get Final Fantasy VI vibes from it, maybe because of the color palette or something. I really like the walls especially!

anyways.. I started this weird project. I guess you can call it a game. It's a YoutubeRPG lol. It's based on the game I'm working on RPG Maker at the moment. It works kinda like a pen n paper RPG, where viewers get to decide the actions. The art is pretty rough, but the idea is to update it often, so I don't want to spend too much time on every episode.
