Fear & Hunger - Youtube Role-playing game

Hey you all! ^^
I just started this weird project. At least I haven't seen similar "games" before. Maybe there is a reason for that (because they don't work), but still I'll give it a shot.

So Fear & Hunger is a RPG - kinda - happening in youtube. I've made this short animation and the idea is that people can play it through comment section. The story progresses according to the comment that gets the most likes, other high ranked comments are taken into consideration too. (except I'll be happy to get just one comments at the moment lol :D) Also if there are multiple characters, I can divide posts accordingly.

I just made the first episode. The art is pretty rough, but I'd like to be able to make these in a few days notice, so that's the reason I didn't pour too much effort into it. At the moment, our character is yet to be created. Basic info like name and class are required and also what to do for the next episode.

you can find it here:

Legion Saga

I never played the first one, but really like 2 and 3. Legion Saga 2 was somehow magical back then lol

15 years on... >_<;

This was interesting read! Piece of rpgmaker history. I used to be around on Don Miguel's site and later gamingw, but for some reason I stayed away from rpgmaker.net. The people intimidated me as no one seemed that familiar lol. Of course I was super young those days and could barely talk in english so I was pretty much one of those nobodies back then... Just as I am today :)

Yea but you can take the credit on how you use the tileset. Mapping skills and all that ;)

I agree that the filter isn't all that cool. I'd like a misty feel for the outside areas, that's what I was aiming for. I'll think about variation too. Thanks for the feedback! (:

Xenomic's Sprite Thread! GASP!

Hey xenomic! Nice to see you spriting!! I used to go by the name Orange00, if you remember me.. sorry I sorta dissappeared even though I was doing some spriting for ya :S

Anyways I like your work here. If you need tips on how to finish that one sprite, I recommend just drawing it real fast and not thinking about it too much. You can always fix pixels here and there afterwards. Once you've got it closer to finished, you see how cool it's gonna be with just a little more effort and that should boost your motivation for sure!

Impressive stuff you got here everyone!! Especially Dookie, holy shit those graphics look awesome! Kaempfer, I'm also really liking your screen. it's really pro stuff.

anyways, I haven't been doing anything productive for some time now, so I forced myself to actually do something. Here's a quick mockup of castle inner gardens or whatever you call those outside areas dark dungeons have, you know those places you keep all your hanged people at:

It's still pretty plain. I think I need to add way more details and stuff.. and I just realized those shadows look pretty bad..

It's raining today. It looks purple.

To be honest I never really cared for his music. Although I think I should give it a try, because I really like Lenny Kravitz and he's know from borderline ripping off Prince in his early days..

it's raining here too

RPG Maker's getting a booth at PAX East

It's weird how RPG Maker is getting such recognition after all these years. I suppose even I consider it somewhat of a child's toy in the end, even if I've been using it for years now. Really cool! I wish I could go there.

Bruce Campbell Wins the Internet

haha awesome. I love Bruce Campbell!

As An Adult, Do You Find Yourself Playing More Video Games At This Age Or Less?

I play very little these days. I rather use the time on creating something or doing something creative. It's been a slow decline since I first found RPG Maker, but especially last couple years now I've been able to concentrate even more on creative side of things. Art, music and such...

Games are still there, but I've noticed that video games as a hobby have changed form for me. I usually only play games anymore with other people. I want more from the time I dedicate to games, so I've added a social side to it. Not like it was a conscious decision or anything but that's just how it seems to be. Also I'm watching Let's Plays more than ever before. Actually, before I didn't even understand why someone would watch game being played rather than actually play it. Made no sense to me. But these days I find it even more appealing than stressing myself out trying to finish some hellish horror game. And I guess I don't have to commit so much brain capacity when I only watch.

Oh and I'm 28 if anyone cares..
