Description

Let's spread the love and review games! For this month of February let's offer feedback to developers and educate potential players on the quality of games!

To enter and receive credit for this event, please do the following:
Step 1: Sign up for the event by clicking "Sign Up" at the top of the user list:

Step 2: Write your review(s), keeping in mind our submission rules. Please make the reviews as insightful and engaging as possible! A member of staff may proofread the review for minor spelling and grammatical faults or inconsistencies.

Step 3: Submit your review(s) to the appropriate game page(s).

Be sure to include your score (if any) and an appropriate title:

Step 4: Wait for the review to be approved. It may take up to a week. You might receive feedback on how to improve your review before approval. If the time elapses before your review is added, I (Liberty) will make a note as to which reviews are still in the queue and count them towards your total when they are accepted. (They must be of proper quality. Spamming the queue with shit/placeholder reviews will see them ignored.)

Step 5: Submit the approved review to this event page by clicking the "submit" button on the top-right corner of the page.

Step 6: Repeat for each qualified review. To receive credit, each review must be submitted to this page by the 1st of March deadline!

Step 7: For a certain amount of reviews you will get an upgrade on your badge as well as your MS score.

Step 8: To receive the Jammy Dodger Badge, you must review seven (7) of the possible McBacon Jam games (bar your own, of course). Each of these reviews will also count towards your total.

IMPORTANT: Users must sign up for this event and submit their reviews to this event page to receive credit. Make sure to submit each review: the event page allows multiple submissions.

One (1) achievement will be issued to each user, and it will be based on the number of reviews he/she submitted. The only exception to this is the McBacon Game Jam games, which will give their own badge when all sever (7) required reviews are done. (They will still count towards the total score of your reviews though.)

Reviews are subject to approval per normal RMN procedures; if your review is denied, improve it and resubmit! Staff reserves the right to deny any review based on the Submission Rules. We are hoping for high quality reviews!

The deadline is March 1st, 2015, at Midnight UTC. Reviews must be submitted to this page by this point. (Those that are in the queue will be added to your total if they are accepted by site staff.)

All of RMN's normal policies and procedures apply.

LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

The list of baconjam games should REALLY be in in a big huge bold link in the event description. Especially since there are apparently two that are unofficially considered part of the jam even though they weren't actually submitted to it?

Funnily enough, I was in the middle of playing a game for the purposes of review before McBacon Jam unveiled it's theme ingredient. Probably should get back to that game!

Liberty, do we have to review all nine downloaded games to get the Bacon Jelly achievement?

Poor Man, Rich Man is broken due to a missing file the system won't identify and The Retreat only has two interactive maps and one cutscene. They are both literally non-functioning. The Retreat is only slightly functional as it has one map with encounters.

My review for Poor Man, Rich Man: Opened game. Saw the title in the upper left corner. Got error message. Game crashed. If you want to make a better game, fix the error.

For the Retreat, I could probably come up with the 300 words necessary, but it looks like this game literally only had enough scenes finished to complete the screenshot requirements for the game page. I just feel like reviewing it when there's almost no content just wouldn't be fair or productive to the developers.
Only the ones with downloads.

...I'll post up the required ones in the topic. Gimme a few.

Of course, if there's an issue with a game that's understandable that you can't.

Also, don't forget that you can N/A reviews. That said, I updated the page and requirements. 7 McBJ reviews needed for that badge (still counts towards the total amount of reviews)
Added links up to the McBJ games that have downloads. Hope that helps a bit!

That's weird about Rich Man Poor Man. I don't recall getting an error message with that game at all! Though, I'm a bit disinclined to review it, myself.
It might be an RTP issue. There's about 3 or so different RTPs for 2k3 - there's the normal one, another version of that with different translation (thus different names for every file), the Add-on, and at least one other version that is a mix of different files and names - so there's no wonder people might have an issue playing it.

It might be better for the creators to add every file they've used into the folders and just do the ol' RTP flag trick. Hell, 2k/3 RTP isn't very big - could probably add all the RTP files in the project and it'd only grow by about 30 MB or so.

So I can see why there'd be an issue. If it does crash on you we're not going to make it so that you can't get the badge. If it didn't crash on you and you want to review it, it'll still count, though. Just remember to submit your reviews to this page when they're accepted.

I've gone ahead and reviewed The Retreat.

I get this for Poor Man, Rich Man.

As for approving reviews; are the admins just totally swamped?
Soli tends to check over the reviews with care and there are quite a few in the queue at the moment, so it might take a little while before they go through. However! Since I do have the ability to see the queue, I'll be sure to note down if there are any last minute entries and take that into consideration so don't worry.

These games are going to end up joining the 'most reviewed game list'. Not a bad thing.

Oh I got the crash for PMRM too...which is a bugger since I'd thought up a good name for the review title. I'm going to try fiddling with it to see if I can get it to work, if not Link said he didn't really want reviews on it anyway given it's current state so I won't feel bad not making that one.

Oh the achievement badges are so cute I might just have to join. Also this whole page is super cute. I love it!
And my review is done! FINALLY!!!

Now the only thing left is to wait to approval and then submit to the event.

Sweet Makerscore, here I come! :D
Yes! I'm the first one to submit a review here!

WHO-HOOO!!! :D
I can't play Poor Man Rich Man either. Oh well. It just means I'll have to pick another game to work on tomorrow. As it stands I really need to finish off my drink and get ready for bed.

If you created one of the McBacon Jam games, you'll still get a badge for reviewing all the other ones, right?

And just to confirm, do you have to review Poor Man, Rich Man to get the badge?
If the games listed in the playlist don't have a download, you don't have to.
And I think for the sake of fairness, if the game isn't fixed or usable, then you should still be able to get the badge.

It seems like it's stroke out of the list. You are safe.
Like Nessy says - if it's broken then that's understandable, and of course you can't review your own... but the rest are fair game.

Yeah, it would be an impressive trick to review that game while not being able to actually get it to work.

Why would playing games make you cry? You aren't exactly obligated to review a game just because you played it.
