AVEE'S PROFILE

I started to design games at age 5, drawing maps and sprites with felt pens and paper. Then I began writing stories and game scenarios. I've been working with Rpg Maker 2000 and 2003 mostly, as soon as they came out.
I favor RPGs, Action RPGs and Fighting games. My favorite styles are Fantasy, Horror and anything dark or gothic. I also appreciate cute and funny content.
I make a lot of pixel art and some digital art (concept, promo, fanart, etc.)
I also compose 8-bit music.
Don't be shy and send me a message if you want to commission my work ;)

Battle systems
In 2003's database you can select the default ATB system or the first person view turn based one. For any other kind of battle system you have to program it yourself. Look for tutorials on how to make those.
Would this work on RM ?
The concept sounds familiar indeed. I didn't play many MMORPGs but aren't they all like that? The biggest risk would be boredom so you might want to spice things up a little bit, especially the battle system in my opinion. You'd also need a great variety of events, quests, minigames and all the rest to keep the players interested.
The amount of eventmaking and forks would be overwhelming too. You'd have to be quite persevering and/or build a big team of coworkers to complete such a game. But it would definitely be doable.

Yeah it seems like the 2 attacks are the same here but they really are different:
Water Level 1 shoots a 3 tiles-wide wave that travels forward and pierces through enemies, meaning that each target can only suffer one hit from it. (Its actually the equivalent of Water Level 2 in the original NES game).
Fire Level 3 is quite different: The center flame burns on the spot for a short time, meaning that an enemy located on that same spot can suffer many hits during that time. And the two other flames rotate around the center one for a short time also, damaging every enemy located on their path. These 3 flames do not travel forward (notice the absence of an arrow tip on the red line). They rather appear a few steps in front of the player and remain there burning. Fire Level 3 is potentially the most damaging of these 12 charged attacks.
By the way I won't spoil the 5th sword's charged attacks for now. ^^
Thanks for the comments.

Yeah. There are 7 thunder waves in the original game but I felt it was too much for this project so I only programmed 5 and yet its still too powerful. ^^
By the way I'm looking forward to the completion of Necropolis. The first part blew my mind ;)

...to have a skill, like say "mesmerize" where you target a npc to fight for you.
I know how to do that with 2k3: When the mesmerize skill hits the target, use a switch to activate a second page for the target where it will move toward other enemies and attack them. Use some parallel location detection events for every enemy including the target for movement, attack time and hit detection.
You could also put a parallel timer that will cancel the skill's effects after a short time.
That's a pretty good idea for a skill actually. It's the same as having an ally in action battle systems, which is quite easy to do.
I'm looking forward to playing this game ;)

As you can see from the menu screen, these 6 spells are the only spells I put in the game. I decided to exclude the Recovery and Flight spells because useable items already cure status ailments and the ability to fly is provided by a special item.
And these are the only useable items. There are 8 other special items to find in the game such as the Rabbit Boots that allows jumping, automatically activated when standing in front of a passable gap.
