AVEE'S PROFILE

I started to design games at age 5, drawing maps and sprites with felt pens and paper. Then I began writing stories and game scenarios. I've been working with Rpg Maker 2000 and 2003 mostly, as soon as they came out.
I favor RPGs, Action RPGs and Fighting games. My favorite styles are Fantasy, Horror and anything dark or gothic. I also appreciate cute and funny content.

I make a lot of pixel art and some digital art (concept, promo, fanart, etc.)
I also compose 8-bit music.

Don't be shy and send me a message if you want to commission my work ;)

Parasite Eve: Reboot

I don't know anything about scripts but there are other ways to remove enemies, such as activating a switch when the enemy's HP is depleted and making a new blank page in the enemy's event window. Then turn off all of these "foe's dead" switches during teleports to let enemies respawn. That's actually what I do with Crystalis:SFS so maybe it could work for Xearoth too.

I need some puzzle ideas (RM2K3)

I remember a similar puzzle from Lufia 2 on the SNES. Actually its just a "hit the stuff in the right order" puzzle, but they added a touch of originality by playing musical hints.
I wouldn't just plain tell you to do this or that kind of puzzle, but rather invite you to look at existing puzzles from other games and try to change a few things about them to make 'em your own.

What are you thinking about right now?

AVGN got me. I just looked up Dr. Claw's Dump and Pump on google.

Scanning Function

I'm not sure if saving during fights would be appealing to much players. That feature would be useful only if fights are very, very long, to the point of being boring I believe. I just don't see the point of such a feature.
You can already save anywhere if you enable saving in maps' properties.

As for the menu I can't say if its possible: I don't have RM2k3 on this computer so I can't have a look at it. But I doubt it's possible with the actual command choices during battles.

Making an RPG takes a lot of hard work.

Judging from your submissions here I'm positive you have the skills to make games worthy to be called games. The Longing Ribbon alone is a masterpiece among RM games and better than many commercial ones.

Yet you might want to reconsider investing even more time and efforts to run your own "company". Commercial games that reach satisfactory levels of quality take months of full-time work and dozens of employees, while shorter games with lower budgets really don't show much profits. You'd also need to invest in the long-term in some sort of advertisement in order to spread the word about your games and get a decent amount of sales.

I'm not saying all of this to demotivate you but rather to share my knowledge about it (I have relatives in the industry). If you really are serious about game design, you might as well get a degree in it and work for an employer.
In any case I wish you luck and fulfillment ;)

Scanning Function

Why not simply heal during battles and ask the player if he wants to save right before a boss battle starts?

Is that Goa Fortress?

I changed quite a bit of story elements regarding Goa. Originally it is Dragonia's stronghold but I decided to make the Republic of Gaoua (Goa) the good guys' HQ. It is home to King Azteca, who's more than just a sage, and his daughter Asina who is now a super-powered fighter. Velyagun's HQ will be a new castle atop Saber mountain range.

Parasite Eve: Reboot

I welcome these kind of videos.
Aside from fixing the glitches psy found and including in the game a tutorial or explanation on the controls, you should delete the monsters when they're dead because they might block Aya's path just as that bird was blocking the doorway.

Hero's Realm Review

I believe calunio raised some good points here and this is a good opportunity to point out how much RMN's game ranking system can be biased because of the possibility of a game's rank being based on anyone's subjective experience of it.

The main downside would be the impact on that game's visibility and advertising. I suppose a poorly ranked game would gather much less attention, new downloaders and new comments on how to improve it than a highly ranked one, even if both games would be objectively equal in quality.

I suppose the best way to ensure objectivity would be to review a game according to a mandatory and adopted by majority guide that clearly defines what are a game's components and how quality is measured in each of these components.

Greatest Games You've Played

I always thought Sega had its fair amount of great games, not to mention that their gaming systems were always one step ahead of Nintendo's. But we didn't have a Master or Megadrive at home so I didn't have the chance to play much games from Sega. I think Sonic's great :) He's the one who's got me interested in fast-paced gameplays and speed-runs. And even now I still enjoy meta-gaming Super Metroid, SotN or any RPGs.
