Hallo, I make games.
I'm a mapper/writer and try to escape all other aspects of dev as much as I can.
My pastimes include consuming unhealthy amounts of manga, yaoi pr0n and begging people to work with me so I don't have to event or do gameplay.

Also expect HOARDS of typos from me. And rants. Much typoed rants.

That wonderful moment when giving harsh criticism, and the subject actually responds positvely instead of defensively. So wonderful, if everyone was like that I'd be a fucking pleasure ;A;

And they will get MORE of it for that behaviour, bcause when I commented that to other people they asked who they were, since they'd be interested in giving feedback too if the recipient was so receptive about it.
Because hoenstly, one of the bigger reasons I don't add feedback to so much is because people tend to take it so badly it makes me feel like a bitch :<

Answers yo some of the stuff you asked:
-As for music, I meant frist the castle. It's...well, I didn't like the song. Later on I noticed there were some RTP bgms throws in there, so I guess it's not really a final selection. 16-bit music would do a better work, yeah.
-By the stops in text, I don't mean so much the cutscenes (where it's tolerable and acceptable) but when inspecting objects on the field. There is a rather annoying stop when you look at pots and the like, which gets old, REALLY fast, since you don't want to be stopped at every step when scanning a room.
-About the captain's death: Oreh acts like it's a big deal and he's like...sad? Why should he be? Sure, he's dying, but it was shown not a minute before that he disliked the captain, he would not put that much feeling into it, I think? He's actually acting like a person very near to him died, which is not the case. It's not that he can't be sad or distressed, but it feels wrong at the level he's doing it.
-Gameplay...I'd do somethign about the HP/MP resources, as well as overall mosnter balancing. Call me spoiled, but since I started putting autoheal after battles in our games I've become unable to enjoy anything else unless it's really balanced. The knowledge that you can go ALL OUT in every battle is liberating and makes the fights enjoyable. Somehing like a slight regen after battle would work, too. As it is it feels like battle gets IN THE WAY instead of part of the adventure, since it forces you to quickly lose resources.
-The cap...well. Unless you WANT your game to have goofy modern references WAY out of place in a medieval setting, I'd say scrap it. At least to me it was just jarring and out of place.

There it is~ And sorry for the harshness. And thank YOU for not get all defensive (as some people do), I was dreading it x.x

Crystal Catch

Well, RSW is all about feedback, so...I have to say, none of this is personal, but it's an honest opinion. And it's pretty harsh, I'm afraid.
-Mapping is pretty bad. The starter room is unnecessarily huge and with next to no detail. I’m pretty sure those white tiles are supposed to be vertical walls and not borders :x
-God, this enemy repeats itself WAYYYY too much.
-…The writing is pretty bad, I have to say. I just got dumped a bunch of “you have to do this” and my character doesn’t even have a reply?...Ok.
-Yeah, the interior mapping is REALLY terrible. The rooms and empty and featureless and big, what the heck.
-I died in two encounters, where all I did was attack (because that’s the only thing I CAN do).
-…really? AGAIN? In full health I go against a fucking SEED and I’m killed? Are you expecting me to actually GRIND these boring attack only battles until I level up, or something? At ONE exp per enemy? And going back to heal after every fight?...Becuase no, that is not going to happen -.- (grinded like 5 fights, no level, I give the fuck up, this is too boring).
-………I need to equip things to get magic, but they cost 100+ coins. An enemy gives me ONE COIN. Not going to grind that, as I’m not going to grind levels.
-If I go to the forest I get killed at level 1, but I’m not abut to grind my way up, so I think I’m done.

It’s…pretty bad. Writing is lacking all around, interior maps are bare and too big, exterior maps are sort of okay but rather bland.
Battles are a boring and seem pretty unbalanced. There is no strategy to them and, if I understand it correctly, you are expected to grind for unhealthy amounts, which I am certainly not going to do, because I have no reason to enjoy combat.

Maybe you feel like “it will get better later”, but to a player that won’t matter. If it does not make me want to play it from the get go, I will never get to the “good” parts.

It’s…bad. It will need a lot of work, but in any case, good luck with your game! I hope this feedback, even as harsh as it is, can help you at all.

Chaos Sword

RSW= feedback, so here is mine as I go along:
-The music is…ugh. At least the very first theme.
-While I suspect this is due to simply lack of time, the mismatch of charming pixel style and plain rtp is rather jarring.
-Nice conversion for the rtp (I’m guessing) into pixel.
-Player sprite seems a bit bulky and “complex” for the environment’s simplicity, but it’s nothing glaring.
-Omg that swishy cape. That’s just… *laughs at the silly thing*
-Minor nitpick, but the autoshadows+pixel style are rather ewwy.
-The continuous beeping when you run into interactive options is a bit irritating. It’d be ideal if it beeped once only, or even once every X seconds with a delay.
-Omg, I read OreO XD (most delicious character of the team, I’m going to guess).
-Also not major nitpick, but the font is slightly too “smooth” for the simpler pixels.
-The waits in text when inspecting things get old quick. :< They get in the way after the first couple times.
-It’s a pretty good move to teach the player (I was already doing it but STILL XD) that you can search pots and the like for items with the maid’s talk.
-The text is…odd sometimes. I’m not a native English speaking so I may be wrong here (sorry if that’s the case) but some of the stuff the chars say is not medieval, while it SEEMS (I THINK) you want them to speak sort of medieval-style. At times it just sounds off, but this could be just me.
-Omg, poor king doesn’t even have a CHAIR. Give the poor old man a place to sit XD
-It’s a bit redundant and unnatural how everyone keeps saying “oh hey, its you, the new knight appointed yesterday!”. We don’t need to hear it quite so plainly and so often :x
-Maybe I’m wrong, but the constant use of “me” instead of “my” makes me think of pirates XD
-Oh wow…ok, the music is…I’m not sure it fits the cutesy pixel style. It’s too…full? I’m not entirely sure, it’s just a bit mismatched.
-Honestly, what’s with the dialog? The tone and words keep going all over the place, it’s more jarring that if you just used “normal” words all the time x.x
-This went from medieval to pirate talk quite fast :x
-The captain’s death isn’t really very convincing. The knight has no reasons to be as attached as he acts :x
-Captain ARMOS’ parcel? Wasn’t it Stratos?
-I got killed by a dog? Woah. :<
-Ugh I gotta listen to the captian die again. Cmonn
-The balancing seems pretty shifty. I can kill enemies in one hit with the Mp skill, but if try to conserve mp and use normal attacks I get killed :/ And levels don’t restore Mp, so I’m pretty much fucked either way.
-Ugh, I can’t even rest at the abandoned hosue? Come ooon :<
-Why is green hair girl’s sprite wearing a modern cap… x.x
-Ok, the writing is just getting ridiculous now :/
-Got wiped by 4 imps after recruiting the kid and had enough.

Well…it’s something. It’s not bad, but right now, the weirdness and mismatch of the writing and the mix of resources is pretty jarring, making enjoyment a bit hard :<

Gameplay is…a bit bland. Mp runs out fast, and it’s not like I can do anything else. Combat seems determined to kill me even at the start of the game, which is never fun, my mp was not restored…it was not really enjoyable to play combat-wise as far as I got.

The graphics, those that were in pixel, were cute and I can see the full game like that being charming. The mismatch of styles right now makes it hard to enjoy.

The writing…the base isn’t bad, but the execution gets out of control FAST. Honestly speaking, it would be better if characters just spoke their lines normally without all the old style mismash, which is way out of control. I’m not an expert (I could be wrong here), but I’m pretty sure a lot of the expressions used are way out of context and don’t match.

That said, if the combat was given some spice and the writing was fixed a bit (and the graphics got finished, of course) I could see it being nice. As it is now, I could not enjoy it.

In any case, good luck with the game!

BoutallesTogether

So, my feedback, as I go along. (It’s what RSW is about, I understand x.x)
-There’s no sound?
-Um…nothing wrong with the animations, I can see.
-Characters all look the same, but within the time frame I don’t think I can comment much on that.
-The invisible walls come out of nowhere x.x
-Jumping controls are rather floaty
-Not finding anything to do, so going to stop now (some dude teleported me to another map but it’s all empty houses and jumping blocks).

I…I’m not sure what I should say. There was no “game” yet as far as I saw, and since it seems to be a rather early prototype I can’t really criticise it. Good luck with it, in any case!

I just managed to beat the game. Expect a review soon!

Want ;A;

Azure Waves

Well, RSW is about giving feedback, so…notes as I went along:
-Oh dear god, those portraits ;A;
-From time to time a dialog box will pop up with both face and portrait.
-Dialog is a bit confusing sometimes, as it’s hard to tell what they’re trying to say with it bouncing all over the place, as the characters are not really very well introduced.
-Beautiful tiles and mapping ;-;
-Why is poor Viviann wearing a green prisoner’s rag. The others are all dressed;-; (nvm it was appartently her equipment)
-Gotta love that music as well
-Hit detection and waits are a bit funky, I got killed :<
-The run away mechanic can be really inconvenient, since it does not push you AWAY, and in the panic (I was not even trying to run away ;A;) I moved DOWN, which prompted me again, letting enemies get all around me.
-The lack of effect when enemies dies is a bit sudden and disorienting
-Melee attacks seem to be pretty hard to execute, or maybe I’m just really bad at this ;-;
-Some sprites seem to have the flat blacks transparent (one of them stupid import bugs of Ace)
-The mother is a bitch :x
-Some mapping issues here and there (motly tile errors and border things) but the mapping I overall very pretty :D
-I’m not understanding how the social thing works. It doesn’t seem like the others are going down when I talk to someone…?
-The combat screens are rather interesting, btw
-Some portraits in dailog are borked (reno’s drinking scene for example)
-Them friggin respawning enemiessssssss

Well, that was…something XD
What can I say? The combat was ok, nothing particularly hard for the most time (I kept away ad casted lumina all the friggin time, because fuck melee risks >C). The plot…was rather strange, to be honest, and the characters even stranger. It was really odd, as sometimes they simply behaved in ways that you could not expect, and I honestly had a hard time defining the characters’ personality. Overall, the writing…not it’s strength.
Visuals were the best of it, with the tiles being really cute and the portraits being awesome. Here and there were some tile errors or less pretty tiles, but it still had a really cute and effective style (also those portraits are awesome).
What else is there? Music was good, Bugs…I only found one game breaking bug (Lunar Wave or Cross wave or some skill simply crashed the game) and there were small eventing and face/dialog errors here and there.
A nice game. I feel it would greatly benefit form a vigorous polishing (most of the errors seem easily fixed in eventing) and some editing and rewriting of the script. Other than that, good job!

Autopsy The Seventh Corpse 1.10

Notes as I play (as far as I played, which is not much because…well XD)
-Writing is really odd, I gather it’s because eof lack of a good English dominion?
-There’s no need to make a credit intro so long if it’s basically two people, mentioned ten times XD
-And now a title screen again after credits? This goes on for too long :<
-Well, a note says time is running BUT I SURE AINT, BABY! Because I seem to walk as slowly as I can manage :/ (oh wait the run button was Q. Wtf?)
-…What the heck is a “double door”?
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP NONONONONO.

I can’t play these sorts of games, I’m too chicken. XD
I’m terribly sorry, it was promising, but I’m just WAY WAY too wimpy for terror games. After the first scare I closed the game like the coward I am ;A;
Evaluation: Shaky translation aside, it was pretty good (as long as it lasted). Sound and ambience (and lighting) were pretty well done. Mappign, not so much. Too many open spaces and mismatching graphics. Nothing glaringly bad, but not that good either.
Controls were a bit confusing. Too many keys doing too many thigns, and theyre bound somewhat awardsly in the keyboard (run with Q and the main buttons on C/X? whaaat).
Anwyay, I hope someone with more courage to play this game than me comes along to give it a better feedback (and actually manage to play it, which is a pity sicne it looks good).
I’m sorry, I tried, but I’m just not made for this. On the plus side, the first scare most DEFINITELY got to me, so if the rest fot he game is like that it’s probably a pretty good game, I guess XD
