Hi all !
I like 16-bits RPGs (especially action RPGs) where you feel the quest behind the lines of code. I also like strategy, puzzle solving, immersive stories, tabletop RPG and LARP.
I'm a hobbyist C programmer who likes to work on custom game mechanics. My very first project was a very basic map generator for Genesia, aka Ultimate Domain https://rpgmaker.net/users/Irog/locker/UltimateDomainWorld.zip
I also want to help developers polishing their projects with my player feedback. So I'll be happy to test your game !
See you around,
Irog

MinST Review
Thank you Pianotm for the constrictive review. You can reconfigure the keys to your liking by pressing "7" at the main menu. I recommend using 6 adjacent keys for the directions, preferably in a 2 row - 3 column block.
MinST
The game can be played against the AI or against another human in hotseat mode.
I used the C programming language together with the SDL2 library to build this game.
I'm confused. Could you explain a bit more what your expectations are?

Why DON“t randomize map to player two? Why NOT also put these thinks?

If you made some maps, you can share them with others. Simply store the map text files in your RMN locker and post a link here.

Great initiative Waxius!
I would really appreciate some feedback on MinST. You can also play Red Balloon of Happiness. Both games meet your "under 5 hours and less than 3 reviews" criterion.

Tell me more about Ib, Yume Nikki & my precious horror games
If you're interested in the impact those games have, I can tel you that Dreaming Mary had a significant impact on Red Balloon of Happiness. Why Dreaming Mary? I very rarely play horror games but somehow Dreaming Mary's cute graphics caught my attention and made me play it... thus influencing my design ideas for the Halloween event.
reviews dont matter
I agree with you. I don't review games I hate. If the game is such that I can't write some positive elements about it, I simply conclude that the game is not made for me.
reviews dont matter
This is not a review: it doesn't say what is good and bad about the game. Engine strongly influences the type of game one can build. But the quality of a game depends on the developer skill and dedication to the project.
I admit I also have a prejudice against RPG Maker: I dislike the menu based combat system. But many RM games shine through story, pixel art, humor, character development, mini games and some games tune the combat system or build a new system. I like some games that use the default battle system because they shine in other aspects. I think reviewers should point to features they like or dislike instead of making general statement about the game based on its engine.
A youtuber, incorrectly thought one of my games was an RM game, and he evaluated the game for what it is and gave very useful feedback. So not every youtuber is as engine biased as the one you encountered.
