RADNEN'S PROFILE

I like to make video games, especially action RPG's.

I make games slowly. Call me slow. But quality is always better than quantity!

Elder Scrolls Online

I am so excited for what you might be able to do in this game! At the same time, looking at the screenshots (yes, there are), it does look wow-ish, and I hope they don't turn it ointo a grind fest that tried to mimic WOW in a bad kind of way.

And it's probably going to be pay to play since the IP is too good to have for free. Which sucks since more and more of my favorite games are becoming this way. KOTOR to TOR, Skyrim to TES Online, Warcraft III to WOW, and the list will go on and on when more companies cash in on the MMO experience. It's quite sad.

I find the buttons a little annoying. I dont know but the ctrl and enter keys, can they be put into one button. Pushing ctrl to check everything or speed up text and then enter for options and to move dialoge along is annoying. Maybe z in stead of enter so its close to ctrl and shift. Also im throwing bad guys and rocks but my skill isnt leveling. I ran into a script error. Something with an item when i went in equipment. Also bad guys have gotten me to zero health multiple times but i never die lol. Cool game so far. i had beat that first boss but didnt save and game shut down so ill have to re fight. Its fun though i enjoy action rpgs.

Nice, everything you said has been fixed by now. So It's just a matter of time until you play a much, much better version of the game! :)

Looking great. I like how you've developed your own Pixel Art style. The only thing bothering me is the foliage for that big tree in the upper right corner. It kind of clashes with the trunk for some reason.

Perhaps the life/magic bars could be a little more details too? Just a thought!

I actually find the trunks of the smaller trees what clash.

I'll try to do something more for the life/mana bars. It's weird since my inspiration for this game LoZ: ALttP had the classic heart system, and so I don't want to mimic that. Thanks for noticing though!

The Screenshot Topic Returns

Redrawn graphics for blockman, plus new player sprite! :)

My friends thoughts on old makers VS new ones.

Confused Sphere user is confused. What's VX? Ace? Too many engines to count. O.O no wonder there are mixed attitudes on the subject.

A good game is in the hands of the maker; the engine is just a tool. But when it comes to features and limitations, if newer engines can do what the older engines do and then some, then the newer engines are better.

Consider This:
Assume you are equally good with VX and 2k3. If VX can make a game that looks just like a 2k3 game, then VX is superior. If however you can't do something in VX that you can do in 2k3, then for that particular instance 2k3 is better.

For Sphere there are no comparisons, as because it remains the same tool, it wasn't built with draconian restrictions and limitations that riddled 2k and 2k3, so its not like it needed newer versions to add things it could not support. The downside is like blacksmithing it can be very draconian to use, yet highly rewarding.

The Legend of Blockman

I have been fervently working on this. If you hadn't noticed yet, there's a demo up for download. It's a pretty rough demo, and very short.

If you like it, tell me what you want to see more of and what needs fixing or adding. As I said, I'm going to continue working on this project until its finished.

I have started one too many projects, I now need to start finishing them.

RMVXAce to be released March 15 (pre-order is available)

The only potential problem I'm seeing is that all this awesome fanart will balloon the download size even more than it already is. I'm not sure about anybody else, but the last time I tried to get this, it took me about hour to download.

The concept art would only be image data. And if saved as a .png it's only going to take a few kilobytes of space (especially if paletted to 256, but that has to be done in particular with an image editing software - not Photoshop). You have almost better compression if they were .bmp and in a .7zip archive, but I digress.

Music is the only killer in any 2D game, that and if you have any videos/animations in it. (Well, music that's a raw or rendered format like .wav or .mp3. .mid and .it (module music) takes the least amount of space and may even sound better depending on the soundfonts, but I digress again).

Is being an introvert a good or a bad thing?

I know I'm introverted when I try to post here and instead, just click the back button and not post it... thinking that was a superior decision since I don't want to say something stupid or want to at least say something meaningful.

Phew.. I posted this.

Are RPG battle systems shallower than other genres' ?

hell yeah, right on avee, rpg gameplay sucks so bad

There. Now go play Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning... But then you get people who say that Amalur is too mainstream and button-smashy.

I think it comes down to your personality. Do you prefer action-immediacy? Or do you prefer ... chess?

If science had an answer to this kind of question it would have been answered. You can make an RPG with as much flair as an FPS (Mass Effect), or Action (Amalur), but then you muddy up the line between the genres. The important thing is the customers and if they realize the differences or not.
