I like badasses. I like babes. I like badass babes the best. Okay...actually I like doggoes the very best, but I aspire to make games about badass babes is my point.
I use music from bands and artists in the free games I make: the frustrated filmmaker in me is very enamored of scoring scenes with rock'n'roll soundtracks Scorcese or Tarantino style. In addition to being a time honored tradition in cinema, this has a history in AAA videoogames as well (for a really great use of it, see Bioshock: Infinite). If I was a millionaire, I'd totally license these songs so I could actually use them legally.

When You Were Young
Finally let myself enjoy a tiny taste of this.
(First off, funny story, I had to reload to my pre-Vadim-fight save to "catch up" and wound up killing Vadim in two turns; Ralph got a lucky critical for 2,100+ damage and then his Darkness reflected off of Caroline's Magic Reflect and instakilled him. I worried that boss was too hard so it was heartening to see him laughably face-rolled by reflect and dumb luck.
At some point I will replay beginning also because you were free to make changes there.)
Anyway I am loving everything you've done with it so far. I could spend all day playing and commenting but I need to correct the disgraceful job I did on finishing your game that you actually made custom gfx for. What brought me to this post was probably excessive and unjustified curiosity about the choice to make Ralph a dual-wielder.

[RMMV] Urgent Halp Need
Some much calmer day I want to make a thread about how I don't understand programming at all. Because MV looks and acts almost EXACTLY like MV with the most minor of tweaks, but is built upon a completely different language base totally alien to the entire franchise until now.

I really wish there was a Manage Entry button.
Here, this version is actually playable from start to (a sort of) ending and gives you a button to turn off the gangster rap and cat noises once you begin the assault on the (almost completely empty) Lair of Cait. There is still no actual gameplay in the latter half and there is still some content by JustAShyDoge that I don't want to leave on the cutting room floor that I've yet to reintegrate. I'd still suggest waiting for the next version.
Liberty, every time I post a new download in this thread (should only be like two more max) please interpret that as me saying "please stream this instead of the version that's up there now". With the absence of a manage entry button, that's all I can do.

On a side note, I don't think I can get involved in these events any more. My obsessive compulsive disorder and perfectionism cause manic episodes where I don't eat or sleep and can't leave the computer because I'm trying to get something perfect. The first half of When You Were Young just cost me a full night's sleep. This second go-round has had me put off indefinitely important real life stuff (like finding an apartment) and delay real life stuff that I should have taken care of sooner (taking my dog to the vet; he's fine, but I should not have waited). Last night (was it last night or the night before? I literally can't remember) I found out that my main PC was potentially bricked and I haven't dealt with that yet.
This is no failing of the event structure it's just something wrong with me. I'm pathologically over-ambitious, my concept of what I can accomplish within a given time frame is megalomaniacal and absurd, and I'm so stubborn that I say "well, if I drink enough caffeine to find blood in my poop (this not an exaggeration, this really happened, but I doubt it was the Monsters, preexisting stomach problems) I'm sure that I can finish this ENTIRE RPG in 6 Hours and it's just...yeah.
Long story too short, I take this shit too seriously. Including--and paradoxically, I would add especially--when the game in question is the exact opposite of serious. Even when I am goofing off and making something completely silly and ridiculous I still need to get everything PERFECTLY silly, the EXACT right comedic tone, before I can stop. Something is broke in my Mazlow's hierarchy of needs and this gam mak takes priority over like, food and sleep, far longer than it should. I just moved half way across the country. I need to stay away from deadlines that aren't connected to paying work until I have the basic foundation of my life sorted out.

Arglebarglefrickinfrackin' trying to figure out a new engine under time duress.
Is there a way to get into the base javascript whatever and adjust the encounter rate formula or do I need a plugin for that? Like I don't want to download a whole plugin just to accomplish what I could do in Ace by changing one line of code but...I will. Because I assume the default encounter rate algorithm is stupid because it has been for the LAST NINE ITERATIONS OF THIS ENGINE.

Obviously I'm dying to check this out but I am also like in super-ultra-hardcore crunch mode over the next 4 hours and 29 minutes finishing Doge Odyssey because Liberty scares me.
Gah I would fucking gut a man alive to see how you ended this story, such is the strength of my curiosity, but must finish Doge Odyssey first or Kiberty will kill me.

Just her, actually (that mystery could have been alleviated by looking at my user profile, where I have considerately ACTUALLY listed my gender, as opposed to writing something like "Otter"). Those I put enough into that I do feel ownership of them. They're RTP edits but they're not SLOPPY RTP edits.

What Videogames Are You Playing Right Now?
I forget, is there any combination of jobs/sub-abilities in FFT that lets you dual wield guns?
FFX...just plain sucks. There, I just said it. If there is one good thing about that game I can't name it. There. I said it. FFX-2 I've been meaning to try because of sexploitation and also dress-up.
Anyway, I just got to the second disc of FF8. (I like how Darken beat it in a third of the time it took me to get to the second disc, lol, and I'd be willing to bet he has a job whereas I currently don't.) Here's something I definitely didn't notice when I first played it as a little girl! Is Selphie some kind of adorable little ultra-violent latent sociopath? She has said some DISTURBING things thus far that every one has pretty much ignored, but it was the suggestion of skinning the stupid-not-Red-XIII-thing-in-the-jail and wearing its pelt to escape that really made me stop and go....WOW.
Is this what the Japanese call Tsundere? I know the Japanese have their own words for things (tropes) but I can never remember which ones mean what.
