What do you do for a living?

Can you actually use Triple Triad on a comercial game? I mean, the script I use is from Reizen, and he lets you use it for commercial, but, can you use it? It's from FF8 so I'm not very sure at all.
I wouldn't know, this project isn't a commercial project.

The positioning makes me think he dives underground and pops up in different places a la the battles against him in FF6? Am I right?

Not sure if anyone talked about this yet, but if you do new game +, if you would do it like devil survivor dose, that would be awesome. Meaning you get points for achievements and before you start new game +,you could distribute those points for stuff like new bosses, carry over equipment, level multiplier, money multipliers, new character maybe. Also I hate it when The levels stay the same on new game +, I just dont find it fun to play at that point, making it optional would be the way to go.
We haven't yet decided how to handle New Game+ save files, other than keeping non-unique items and gaining access to the Arrowny Gallery. We'll keep this suggestion in mind, though! Sounds like a cool idea.

Cards are ranked in rarity from one to six, with six being the highest. Several in-game achievements can be obtained through Triple Triad. New cards can be won, bought at auction, or sold in special shops. Opponents of varying difficulty can also be found conveniently in the Gold Saucer's Card Square.
NPCs all over the world can also be challenged to games.

here it's just taking forever
Doing max damage per hit, it would take only 11 hits (at least one million damage) to force Odin to start charging Shin Zantetsuken. That's "forever" to you?
I figure it goes without saying at this point, but I always end up having to say it anyway; enemy stats, much like every single other thing in this project, is still in development and can (and will) change to fit game balance. :/

Also, are there any plans for a demo or something or are you planning on releasing a full game only at this stage of development?
One demo will be released, covering the entire Burmecia and Sanubia nations (including the Gold Saucer), and then no releases until we're done. No ETA on either release yet.
Blacksmith done!
Wrexsoul.png
Added video. I didn't increase Wrexsoul and Soul Saver's stats to match the party's level (I was testing with a maxed out party meant for another battle test) so they do little to no damage, but it won't be that way when you actually fight him in-game (unless you guys grind out as much as I do, ha!)
Showcase # 1 "Let's Sail" !
Oh, mine lets you choose what the max level the Blacksmith can upgrade to, just like the original games. I'll PM the script over to you.

I'm no scripter, and if this sounds stupid tell me, but would it be possible to event something like "ATB" in there, and only have it come up as needed for x amount of party members? Like say a Common Event, and you make an ATB graphic and put it in Pictures, and upon setting the Turn to 0 under Troop events it'll run this Common Event where it's set as a Conditional Branch that this ATB graphic will be displayed as a picture when a certain party member is in the party (and in #1, #2, #3, and #4 battle positions) and you'll be able to place the graphic wherever you like with the coordinates (and since it's a picture its Z layer will be set to display over the HUD window). And then you just make a Conditional Branch for each party member and whether they're in #1, #2, #3, or #4 battle position and the ATB picture is moved accordingly to those coordinates (and of course the pictures would be set as 1, 2, 3, etc. for each character).
I don't know if that made much sense, or if it's even remotely what you'd like to do, but yeah. =)
Wouldn't really work (the way the battle scene displays stuff is so complicated for no reason). Plus, adding a battle event just for that, to what will probably be about 1,000+ enemy troop setups? Yeeeeeeesh.
I am looking into a simple way to adjust what I need. I have an actual overlay ready to use (the HUD as it is now is one image, per party member, but the end result will likely be two or more). It might take a little rewrite on how things are displayed inside windows. Right now, priority is falling on battle and event stuff, less so the graphical stuff.
For instance, this battle... ooh boy. This is a hard one. Take all of the things in all of the Final Fantasy games that made Odin a challenge and combine them. It isn't shown here because of the animation, but this fight is on a timer, like the battle against him in FFV/FFVIII. If the party takes too long, they're dead.
However, instead of sitting around dropping the rare attack or Thundara like he does in FFIV, he fights back. Ferociously. His ability set combines a lot of his special attacks from FFXIII and FFXIV. Once his HP is depleted to 25%, he will stop attacking and instead start charging Shin Zantetsuken. If the player doesn't beat him by the time the ability is charged (or the timer runs out), it's back to the title screen for them.
Oh, and because of how our version of Odin is designed, magick does not work on him. It is meant to be a physical vs. physical fight.
P.S. I am looking for some video recording software that doesn't suck, as my copy of Camtasia has blown up in my face. I would really love to put up a video of this battle. If anyone knows of something free that doesn't suck (i.e. NOT fraps), please let me know!
