Old school RMers: what are some communities that you used to belong to that have ceased to exist?

I miss the old internet too!
Anybody remember the days where revealing your real name was extremely unusual? I had several online friends whom I was close with for a long time, and I never even knew their first names! The age of Facebook and whatnot changed that. Real life and internet life is intertwined now, but back then they were very separate.

I think the thing that always tickled me about Legion Saga 2 was the bit wherebecause the event is tied to the number of characters you've recruited, and it happens even if you're JUST ONE SHORT. It just made me imagineFuba commits suicideXDhim sitting there contemplating the deed, thinking to himself "If only...if only I'd had just one more friend..."
I take it you haven't played the Suikoden games. The same sort of thing happens there!

Haha, I have no plans for that :D
To be honest I did spend a bit of time looking at the Legion Saga games and seeing what it would take to get them polished up a bit with non-ripped art assets and music, perhaps for a proper commercial re-release.
But I started to just see a bunch of design flaws all over the place, which is to be expected from my first games of course, but I sort of felt that I'd want to change so much that it almost wouldn't be worth it, you know? Like it probably wouldn't really be the same game any more and I might as well just make a new one?
I kind of agree with Arcmagik. Your old games still have a large enough fanbase that many would be drawn to the remakes, and it's not like the originals would disappear from the internet. Of course, if your heart's not in it, it's not worth it. I do think there's a market for a new Suikoden type game though that a remake of Legion Saga could fill (especially since the actual Suikoden series is, sadly, dead).
I had a lot of fun when I was younger buying small hammers in Legion Saga II. They were cheap enough that you could easily buy 99 and cheaply/quickly max every character's Attack stat.

Haha yup! After RPG Maker I did a bunch of modding for Half-Life 2, then studied game design for 3 years at university and managed to land a job working at EA. Eventually joined the Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty team working as game/level designer and then on to Soulstorm. I never stopped making games.
It's been a blast and I've learned sooo much and worked with a lot of great people, but I could never forget my RPG Maker roots!! It's where I cut my teeth!
It's really lovely to see people remembering my work. Thank you :)
So when's the high-budget AAA version of Legion Saga coming out?

Those are really nice tilesets and maps! My only suggestion is for the forest: I recommend making the canopy tiles different from the floor tiles. As it is, it's overwhelmingly yellow and even looks a bit confusing. I get what you're going for (leaves on the ground) and it's a great idea, but perhaps consider making the ground leaves a darker shade.

I believe that it may have taken you a month or more to take this! Can you access secret Link?
I wish I had logged the time it took so o could say for sure! And no, unfortunately you can't. That was something I drew the key my sane as I mapped thousands of cliff tiles.

Thanks for the wonderful comments, everybody!
Liberty, what you're saying is probably true. However do keep in mind that the bottom left portion of the map isn't actually accessible to the player which is why the trees are lazily scattered there.

However, knowing that you're remaking Legion Saga, the second is more akin to the original map.
That's funny. I noticed that the castle's name was the same as in Legion Saga but I figured it was just a coincidence. I'm excited to see you make more progress! Have you tried contacting Kamau?
What do you like or dislike about RM Horror games?
I'm not sure if an RM game has topped The Longing Ribbon yet, but I haven't played many of the newest RM horror games.

I was on a few but the one I remember best was Skytowergames. Wonder what happened to SiliconHero and LadyKiki...
There was this other one...Gaming Ground Zero I think?
The name SiliconHero sounds familiar. Did he have a game out? Or create resources?
