Rudra tilesets are kind of boring nowadays. I may remake this dungeon using a tileset that's not from a commercial game.

Noted. I'll look into moving the tops of the tables a few pixels down to remedy this.

Hey, I'm using your plug in and it works great. My only gripe is that the damage indicator appears underneath the Health/Mana/ATb bars when I think it should be shown above. By damage indicator, I mean the number that appears when one of the actors is attacked.

Is there any way to change this? I have the bars positioned near the center of the enemies: if I position it above or below, the bars are often cut off by the edge of the screen.

The Iron Age

Ah, I see. I've come across the same problem with my own project. I've had to rebalance stats completely twice which involves a lot of play testing on my part (especially because my game allows for certain dungeons to be completed in any order which means I have to play the game while complete all the dungeons in every possible order). I've just been working on my game for too long to give up and, besides that, working on it is rarely a chore.

I can't say I'm not a bit disappointed because I thought this project had a lot of potential, but I look forward to your future projects.

Hiatus, huh?

It's bothering me that the perspective of the tables and chairs is incorrect. It looks like the viewer is the seeing them from the side, but everything else is in a 3/4 perspective. You should be able to see the top of the table and chairs, the same way you can see the top of the stage.

+++ DynRPG - The RM2k3 Plugin SDK +++

Hey, guys. I asked this question about a year ago and didn't get a response.

I'm trying to update my project to support the latest version of DynRPG, but after I update the executable, my project won't open up at all. I've made sure to copy the latest dynloader.dll to the folder. Attempting to run the .exe before patching it shows an error, and after I patch it, the game simply won't load. A window doesn't even appear.

Am I missing something here? I want to use some of the latest patches that are incompatible with the older version, such as AubreytheBard's DynBattleDisplay. I think my game is still using the original version.

EDIT: Disregard this post. I solved the issue. I had to paste a fresh, never-before-patched RPG_RT.exe into my game and patch that instead.

Is there a way to set it so that you can only see the monsters' information when one of your party members has a certain item equipped? Is there a switch or something that activates it? Also, is there a way to disable the icons for the heroes? I'm using the FF-style battle system which already displays status.

EDIT: Oh, I see. I'm looking at the readme file and it appears you can use variables to determine whether or not to show the information if I'm reading this correctly.

What are you thinking about? (game development edition)

Is there a recipe to remain consistently motivated throughout game making?

2 cups sugar
4 eggs
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup milk
3/4 cup vegetable oil
2 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla

More seriously, no, there's really not. Sometimes you just have to force yourself to work. I find that posting screenshots and receiving feedback motivates me though, especially when new people become interested in my game.

Also, find something that inspires you. I've recently been reading the Conan the Cimmerian stories by Robert E. Howard and his style of storytelling and world building and inspired me in many ways. They have helped me become even more motivated and work harder. After reading a scene that is especially fantastic, suspenseful, horrific or mysterious in one of his stories, I become eager to work on my game and try to create something as memorable.

What are you working on right now? I believe I've seen some of your screenshots, but otherwise I don't know about your project.

That looks extremely awesome, Punkitt. I love the color pallet. The blocks are really unique and intriguing.

My only gripe is that the map is a bit empty. I understand that it's supposed to be minimalist, and that's fine. But try to balance it out a bit more. In the last two screenshots, you seem to have more little details near the top of the map but the bottom is almost complete barren; just a single solid color. Obviously you don't have to abide by the three tile rule, but try to make it so that the composition of the player's screen is always somewhat balanced, even when he/she is moving around and the screen is scrolling. I probably explained that badly, and I apologize.

But seriously, I really like the style. You've probably explained it a bunch of times by now, but what kind of game is this going to be? What's it about?
