SBESTER'S PROFILE
I've been an active member for quite a few years now. I started my RMN career by releasing the Eden Legacy Trilogy of games (each entry took 4 months of nonstop work) within one year, and I've gradually shifted to creating other games as well. I now have 3 flagship series: Eden Legacy, Fragile Hearts, and Mafiosi (being remade for commercial release as Crime Opera). I'm pretty much solely focused on the Crime Opera series of visual novels right now, as my band and job currently take up most of my free time.
Currently working on
-Crime Opera Trilogy (Mafiosi 1, 2, & 3 edited, with all original resources)

Take Down : Lambs of Destiny Review
Yeah I got through no problem too.
Though I was familiar with the soundtrack i felt that the songs were used very well at each point.

Hype and how it affects you
Damn, I joined this topic late.
1) I spend a lot of time blogging about my progress... which is a form of hype that I probably should never have taken up, but I use it to get myself excited about the project and to collect my thoughts on what needs to be done next.
2) Any hype I've generated for my main project is probably a bad thing lol. Sure, some will like the black and white gameboy graphics idea, but they probably won't like the very minimalist approach I've taken on the whole. I'm just hoping it isn't the most giant disappointment to the ones who are following it, and they keep in mind that while I've been fiddling with RM2K since 2001, I've never actually tried making a "traditional" RPG before.
On the other hand, you could always look at it as "no press is bad press". I'd like to think that if you can find even one person who likes your game, it's kinda worth it in the end. Personally, making games is just something I do on the side of all these essays for stupid librarian school anyway.

Take Down : Lambs of Destiny Review
Damn! I was gonna try and be the first to review this! lol
Oh well. I agree with everything in this review. Nothing is over the top but it still manages to be pretty funny at times. The Cloud clone was really well done too.
Overall, I'm pretty undeserving of life for not trying the Take Down series before now.

2nd beta tester and final trek!
Yes, I will personally. My beta testers won't be, however, which is unfortunate but I will dedicate all my time and effort into ensuring that whatever new stuff I had is functional. I don't intend to add anything that would generate any bugs though, unless I were to screw up on something as dumb as teleportation between maps, which would just be stupid, so I'm really not worried about that.
On the plus side, music is working! I've received confirmation!

What are you working on now?
Catching bugs I should have known about waaaaayyy before.
Also creating new ones with my shifting of gameplay lol.

What do people care about?
Oh don't get me wrong, I agree with you completely. But there are people who review games they haven't given a fair chance, and as long as they are honest and forthcoming about that I have no problem with it. I personally wouldn't write a review of a game unless I had reached the end of it or actually completed it.
What do people care about?
I think that not only should the reviewer state whether or not they've played over an hour of the game or not, but at least have the courtesy to score N/A for something like music. If you've only played 20 mins of the game, how much of the soundtrack could you have heard? Of course this doesn't apply to the standard FF music use all throughout, but what if the 3 or 4 tracks the reviewer heard were decent originals? I hate being misled over things like that.
I've seen many people use N/A before in their reviews (for example in the gameplay area for a demo), and I can't tell you how much I appreciate it. It gives the review a sense of honesty and I'm more willing to trust the writer.
