AVEE'S PROFILE
Avee
5794
I started to design games at age 5, drawing maps and sprites with felt pens and paper. Then I began writing stories and game scenarios. I've been working with Rpg Maker 2000 and 2003 mostly, as soon as they came out.
I favor RPGs, Action RPGs and Fighting games. My favorite styles are Fantasy, Horror and anything dark or gothic. I also appreciate cute and funny content.
I make a lot of pixel art and some digital art (concept, promo, fanart, etc.)
I also compose 8-bit music.
Don't be shy and send me a message if you want to commission my work ;)
Other games I worked for:

Criticism, your audience, and putting your foot down; the concept of saying "That's too god damn bad."
The professionnal game design industry doesn't have communities and forums where developers listen to and consider players' criticism.
Here, such an exchange is possible and encouraged because:
1) most of us appreciate this exchange, and
2) we don't design games for a living.
Yet developers are free to consider players' criticism or not. They can do what they want and that can include considering players' opinions, or not.
If a player is unsatisfied with a certain game, it's great to express his opinion, but he shouldn't expect to be considered. If a player gets to the point of saying "it's your game, do what you want", he already expected too much from this. I believe that the "mistake" is there, not in the clashing ideas about what quality should be.

Regarding High Arcana...
Is the loss of the spell absolute or can you keep it if your INT stat is high enough, or something like that? The latter would allow uber-powerful sorcerers, friend or foe, to exist in this game.
When you explain the way to create spells, it seems only mechanical to me. No special "power" or ability reserved for sorcery-gifted people seems necessary in crafting a scroll. So you might want to edit that.
I like the presentation. You explain this like a scholar NPC would do it ingame.
the magical effect accomplished is greater than the caster's mind can withstand

Guess that game!
Infection
I like the changes in characters and skills. It is pretty intense at first because you don't have much healing items and there are tons of undeads, but it gets much easier once Michelle learns Tend Wounds.
I would have liked access to a savepoint though. And maybe I didn't look everywhere but I can't find a way to light up the subway tunnels. And there's that shiny thing in the upper corner of the southern map I can't reach.

Still figuring out a limit to the amount of each individual type of action should be available for each usable item available.
What?

Well, in my current project there's this meter that grows faster the higher your level, and when it gets too high you die. I guess it's some sort of negative progression.
Nice idea.
For instance I could picture it like this: the character has an Adrenaline gauge. Increases in adrenaline strengthen stats but reaching the limit causes physical and mental breakdown.
Perfect for Survival Horrors.
I had the idea about the handicaps and disease when I watched that silly movie Crank :P
@Darken: You know, it'd be great if someone wrote an article about how to innovate.
