AVEE'S PROFILE

I started to design games at age 5, drawing maps and sprites with felt pens and paper. Then I began writing stories and game scenarios. I've been working with Rpg Maker 2000 and 2003 mostly, as soon as they came out.
I favor RPGs, Action RPGs and Fighting games. My favorite styles are Fantasy, Horror and anything dark or gothic. I also appreciate cute and funny content.

I make a lot of pixel art and some digital art (concept, promo, fanart, etc.)
I also compose 8-bit music.

Don't be shy and send me a message if you want to commission my work ;)

Game Journal-Christmas Edition

author=Adon237
This went downhill fast.

Well, I think pyrodoom's main idea is good, but the contest itself needs to be revised a little:
Even if our entry's setting is the modern world, what if someone wants to craft a game around their medieval live action role playing? RTPs should therefore be allowed at least for mapping.
Holiday or Christmas themes should allow some leeway (but I think that is already the case). For instance, you could set your game during winter vacations and not mention Christmas at all, and that would be fine.
And naming our game with a number is not necessary.

Like Marrend, I probably wouldn't be able to submit a full game either, but only a demo. I'll start working on it but won't sign up just yet.

Backstage is a horror survival made by Max McGee. It really is well designed and you don't have to level up or gather every item to beat the game, which makes it perfect for a speed run.

What are you thinking about right now?

Amen to that.

Hey, good work there. You can add my two game suggestions too.
I don't think that my computer is powerful enough to allow video recording of acceptable quality, but I could at least take screenshots of my progress regarding low level runs (sure they're less solid as proofs but better than nothing).

You could restrict the use of certains abilities or items.

I haven't played many rm games here yet, maybe 15-20 so far, so I don't really know which ones could be good candidates for challenges. It would help if we could use this topic to list potential games, just suggesting ^^

Backstage should be very interesting to speed run. I'd say we should attempt it and post our completion times.
(and btw my Crystalis is tailor-made for speed runs too)

Game Journal-Christmas Edition

I agree that if we are to make a game about our real life, we have to use modern facesets, charsets and tilesets. But no RTP also means custom system graphics, custom backgrounds and panorama, custom battle animations, etc. And I believe these should be allowed.

I don't know if I'll sign up yet. I'll think about it.

EDIT: Discussing religion open-mindedly is always interesting. I myself do not believe in any religion, but my family does celebrate Christmas (more as a commercial holiday, like a lot of people).

What does the gameplay have to consist of? Or is it just like a graphical novel telling a story?

OP says: You have no limits other than to be at least slightly realistic, besides, you don't want people to think you are insane or crazy, it's your journal/diary made into a game. You can make it as interesting as you want, as exact, as exagerated, whatever you want that will make it fit your life in your eyes AND make the game interesting!

So I guess you can pretty much do whatever you want for the gameplay, as long as there is a connection to your own life/journal.

Very pretty!

What's your biggest regret?

Haha! You just made me remember a funny sketch from Jim Gaffigan on these Hot Pockets. Youtube it. It's worth seeing.

Final Fantasy XIII-2.....

Isn't Revenant Wings for the DS a sequel to FF12?
