AVEE'S PROFILE

I started to design games at age 5, drawing maps and sprites with felt pens and paper. Then I began writing stories and game scenarios. I've been working with Rpg Maker 2000 and 2003 mostly, as soon as they came out.
I favor RPGs, Action RPGs and Fighting games. My favorite styles are Fantasy, Horror and anything dark or gothic. I also appreciate cute and funny content.

I make a lot of pixel art and some digital art (concept, promo, fanart, etc.)
I also compose 8-bit music.

Don't be shy and send me a message if you want to commission my work ;)

Howdy everyone :)

Use the same link I provided for location and object names generators (under the Equipment and Setting categories).

For beasts and human battlers you can look on spriters-resource.com although the resources there are widely used.

Best Game Openings: RPG Version

Tales of Destiny American version's opening (better music than the Japanese one). It feels just like what a perfect Fantasy JRPG should be like.
I remember playing the game for the first time when I was 12 and I would purposedly save and reset every hour or so just to watch the opening again.

Picture of Mortana with a Candycane, Sitting

Pretty good drawing. I just feel that her legs are a bit too short though.

How to put scavenging option into game, and visual presentations?

Actually Feld's idea is cool. In Infection, a zombie-killing survival game, you can find food in wastebaskets. It really adds to the theme of survival.
You could also make it so the character has to steal supplies from shops or something like that. The narrative side of it can change whether your game is about survival or abundance.

A Civil Garden Party ~ 2k3 Discussion

Good topic. Yeah, you asked me that a while ago.

I started with 2k, 95 and Sim Tactics at the same time, switched to 2k3 when it came out and focused on raising my Eventmaking and Pixel Art levels ever since. It took me several years before I became satisfied with my work and shared it though.

I tried my hand at XP and VX in the recent years, but there are mainly 2 reasons why I didn't enjoy making games with these:

1) I don't like the design of their sprites, tilesets and interfaces. It would be mandatory for me to make custom graphics (or use someone else's, like Celianna's for instance) in order to be satisfied with my own work, and that would imply huge amounts of time and efforts.

2) I feel lost when trying to eventcode under XP and VX because of the small changes here and there (that's also why I keep using Windows XP and hate 7). You could call me lazy too. I would really like to learn how to script in order to design games that are closer to the ideas I have in mind but I just give that up whenever I look at a script (and I'd rather do it with Game Maker anyway to maximize possibilities).

And maybe I don't want to go through all of the learning process anymore. It doesn't seem worth the effort to me I guess, since I make games mainly for my own entertainment and hopefully entertain a few people who happen to like what I do.

How to put scavenging option into game, and visual presentations?

Do you know you can set Item Drops in the monster page of the database? You can select which item every enemy might leave at the end of a battle, though I don't know if that's what you want for a scavenging system.

Also, if you make it so we can see enemy sprites on the maps, you could make some kind of scavenging system through events.

I get the feeling that your questions are about really basic stuff. If so try searching for beginners' guides on VX through google.

Howdy everyone :)

Can you tell us a bit more about your game and what it is about so we don't submit stuff that you don't want?
Do you need names for characters? locations? objects? etc.
What kind of enemies/bosses do you want? beasts? robots? humans? etc.

Someone who knows VX better could help you on this one.
Do you use the default battle system or another one?
