AVEE'S PROFILE

I started to design games at age 5, drawing maps and sprites with felt pens and paper. Then I began writing stories and game scenarios. I've been working with Rpg Maker 2000 and 2003 mostly, as soon as they came out.
I favor RPGs, Action RPGs and Fighting games. My favorite styles are Fantasy, Horror and anything dark or gothic. I also appreciate cute and funny content.

I make a lot of pixel art and some digital art (concept, promo, fanart, etc.)
I also compose 8-bit music.

Don't be shy and send me a message if you want to commission my work ;)

The pre battle menu escape: Why doesn’t it work?

Are you running Test Fight in the Database or fighting in the game itself?

Stats are for Sissies: Alternatives to Traditional Growth Mechanics

If the only problem would be grinding, just make the traits/skills rise quickly to avoid tediousness.

Macro Machines

I'm eager to try this too.
By the way, thanks a lot for sharing your knowledge in tutorials. You're definitely helping me (and everyone) improve my skills with the engine. This is what a community is about.

Heartache 101 ~Sour into Sweet~

Well, I still can't get a "good" ending. I tried Keika 4 times now and keep getting her Generic Ending.
I don't understand what I should do. Like, should I date them at every location? Should I make them Lovesick or just in the Love state? What are the stats really used for?
I thought I only had to keep the Liking Gauge rising but it seems insufficient.
Please gimme some hints ^^

Will you keep these tones of blue and yellow or make it all grey?

What are you thinking about right now?

So, I just learned that "Hollywood" is on the works to rape my favorite book: 'The Never-ending Story', yet again... xP
What do you mean yet again? I loved the movie as a kid

Aside from the three movies (first one was the best movie I remember seeing as a kid, along with Labyrinth. The third movie was just lame with that Free Willy actor) there was a four episode long movie remake, and it was a hellish nightmare. It seems there is also a tv series and a cartoon but I've never seen these.

Trying to put my ideas together..

If you spend too much game time on developing the civil war part, the main focus won't be space exploration anymore.
Here're suggestions on how you could develop the story (happy endings only):

1) At the beginning you play a small part on Earth to introduce the civil war, then you are sent to space exploration where you spend the majority of the game searching for suitable planets. At the end the main baddie is defeated on Earth and the people rejoyce with the discovery of the new planet.

2) You play a majority of the game on Earth or Ark and focus on the civil war part, then near the end you are sent to space to stop the main baddie and quickly find a suitable planet.

3) You alternately play short moments on Earth and in Space, either in the form of flashbacks or with two teams of heroes. The two objectives are eventually achieved (the civil war ends or a suitable planet is found).

You could go for imperfect endings too. For instance, all the Humans kill each other and the small space exploration team finds a planet for themselves. Or the Humans are sent to the new planet but keep on fighting for resources and repeat their past mistake.

Curious. Is this possible? Has anyone ever done it?

Are you talking about an exact copy of the map and battle system mechanics (I doubt anyone ever did this) or only about the "run into enemy units on the map and teleport to battle" part? (which has been done countless of times).

Birthday

Happy birthday and good luck with acne

Ok I think I get it.
I don't see why such a system wouldn't work, as long as the designer makes sure everything is well-explained and understandable to the players.
Having a large amount of traits to deal with would probably feel like a deeper kind of customization, more complex in a good way.

I'm neither pro nor con. I think both systems can be interesting.
