AVEE'S PROFILE

I started to design games at age 5, drawing maps and sprites with felt pens and paper. Then I began writing stories and game scenarios. I've been working with Rpg Maker 2000 and 2003 mostly, as soon as they came out.
I favor RPGs, Action RPGs and Fighting games. My favorite styles are Fantasy, Horror and anything dark or gothic. I also appreciate cute and funny content.

I make a lot of pixel art and some digital art (concept, promo, fanart, etc.)
I also compose 8-bit music.

Don't be shy and send me a message if you want to commission my work ;)

Skyrim Hype Thread: Undead Chicken Soup for the Dragon's Soul

author=Feldschlacht IV
You wander around having adventures, finding shit, doing shit, and fucking shit up. The world is your oyster and there's a ton of shit to discover, read about, find out about, and the story to enjoy (the universe of the Elder Scrolls is vast, expansive, and storied, to say the least). It is the primal, basic example of the need and the intense fun that can be had of exploration.

So if I understand what you're saying, the game's world is deep and the biggest fun you get out of it is to discover everything that's in it.
Judging from the previous posts, players seem to be particularly moved on the emotional level by the game. Like I said I suppose that a game like that would be a dream come true to anyone who enjoys a deep immersive experience and really picturing themselves as the game's character. Is this how you would describe your own feeling about the game or is my hypothesis wrong?

One of my questions is, if the developers focused so much on creating a strong sense of immersion and exploration, why didn't they widen the physical abilities and mobility of the character (as they did in Assassin's Creed, for instance)? Correct me if I'm wrong there Feld, of course.

And let's stick to that. I don't believe in the "you can't understand it if you don't do it" stuff. :)

I can't and won't. That's why I'm asking for people who play the game to tell me about their own experiences.

Skyrim Hype Thread: Undead Chicken Soup for the Dragon's Soul

Can anyone please explain to me what makes this game so widely appreciated?
Only a few minutes of gameplay are available to watch on youtube right now, and I have to say that nothing strikes me as innovative or impressive.

From what I can watch I suppose there is a ton of customization and collection possibilities, a lot of freedom in where to go and what to do, and the graphics are real pretty. But all that doesn't make me go "wow".

Seeing how the game is played I get the feeling that it can appeal to everyone who, as a kid, used to play in their backyard fighting imaginary monsters and wandering fantastic lands. That would appeal to me too if I were still a teen, but what I'm expecting from next-gen games nowadays is realisticness, or should I say I want them to be up to my "level" :
I want them to allow me to do ingame everything I can do in real life (or allow me to do things I cannot do in real life). I could defeat that dragon naked and using a dagger, with the help of my acrobatic moves, dodges, knowledge of anatomical weak spots and all that. But so far I didn't see any of that happen in the Skyrim videos I watched. The character sluggishly moves on his two feet. Can't he perform any evasive maneuvers or even jump for Hell's sake?

I'm no hater of the game. I just want to understand what I seemingly can't ^^

I did answer your "knuckles and nails" hint. You didn't confirm if I was correct or not.
