AVEE'S PROFILE

I started to design games at age 5, drawing maps and sprites with felt pens and paper. Then I began writing stories and game scenarios. I've been working with Rpg Maker 2000 and 2003 mostly, as soon as they came out.
I favor RPGs, Action RPGs and Fighting games. My favorite styles are Fantasy, Horror and anything dark or gothic. I also appreciate cute and funny content.

I make a lot of pixel art and some digital art (concept, promo, fanart, etc.)
I also compose 8-bit music.

Don't be shy and send me a message if you want to commission my work ;)

Very pretty, stylish and easy to read. Good job!

Infection-New Edition! v.3

Can't wait for the download!
Surrounding scary sound effects and zombie growls could add some good atmosphere... dunno if you thought about that already.

Breach: Awakening

Is the Faux FPP going to be Wizardry-style (you see the background move) or Sword of Hope-style (fixed background images) ?
Either way I really like this perspective.

Collect The Crystals

author=slashphoenix
It's such a letdown when you collect something vastly important and all-powerful to help you, but really all it does is push the plot forward. When I collect the orbs or the crystals or the sage medallions or whatever, I want to feel like I'm using the power from that item to help me, because that's what anyone with half a brain and an ancient relic would do.

I feel the same, although some games really have suceeded in making strong and riveting plot development out of collecting such uber-items: Shadow Hearts Covenant for instance. The protagonists retrieve a black magic book that resurrects the dead and has been used by many antagonists throughout the series, and they use its cursed power to resurrect the hero's lost love.

Discussing Replay Value

Replay value is widely considered as desirable and often mentioned in game reviews and advertisement as a mean to attract more players. The main point of replayability is to rouse the players' interest in starting the game all over again after completion.

What do you think of replay value?
What makes you come back for more and start a game all over again?
What games do you think have good or bad replay value and why?

Customization vs. Collection

Collection is actually a bunch of Customization paths that are available at all times... Let me illustrate it this way:

Customization = choose either A, B or C.
Collection = choose A, B and/or C.

It's a no-brainer to me that Collection is definitely the better choice.

I'd rather like to argue what LockeZ's opinion of replay value is... is there another topic on this?

Shadow Hearts' Judgment Ring system

Thanks! I'm glad that you find it user-friendly. My goal was to make this system as easy to use as possible for anyone.

Though I did not include much pre-coded customization, it is possible to recreate most of Shadow Hearts' Ring States, such as random speed and reversed Cursor, invisible Areas, Tight Ring and the "Key" items' effects.

Recreating Shadow Hearts' Judgment Ring system [2k3]

Well I do have a Shadow Hearts fangame of my own... I started writing the plot and characters about 5 years ago but I've kept making changes every year or so... When I'll come up with something I really am satisfied with, I might just start making the game.
Anyway, I'd be glad to see someone else use this system ^^

You might want to adjust her portrait's hair color but otherwise this looks very pretty.
