Forever's End

Ahm, just registered to report the game (version 1.04) still has that music+sound bug (for me) and already crashed twice during my replay of it (I'm in the royal hunting grounds).

"it crashed" isn't very useful without the actual error message. What exactly was the last thing you did and what message appeared?

Piano Music?

Cherry prowls through the forums looking for opportunities to post links to patches, especially those music ones.

Basically, you are right. But the reason is also obvious: There are many people having problem with music!

Even though every post you have involves an advertisement for one of your patches :3

That's true, too. And again, the reason shouldn't be too difficult to figure out: It's not because I want everyone to use my stuff (you see: more users => more support needed => less time for me - and I get no money for that, remember!), but most question can be answered by other members (so I don't need to post there) EXCEPT those special ones where I am the only one (or one of very few) who knows the answer - or even better, who can make things possible when they are requested. So, I am only posting if I think that nobody else would bring a solution around (in a reasonable amount of time) if I wouldn't post :)

If I am getting on anybody's nerves with my posts, I am sorry for that. I certainly know that the world was also turning round before I was here, but if I see some problem and I know there is a solution around, I just can't ignore it^^

EDIT: Why are you quadrupleposting? XD

Piano Music?

That's a bug in RM2k's default audio system. Use a different audio system (Disharmony or Audieremony).

How do I Stop the Rm2k3 Screen Blinking?

@Darkflamewolf: Does it only happen on your computer and/or only with your project? Maybe you could send me your project, I'll look what exactly the game does in those 10 seconds (and why).
@chana: Thank you!

Dangers to pasting resources directly into folders?

The transparent color is always color index 0. For example, IrfanView lets you set the transparent color too.

Dangers to pasting resources directly into folders?

Yes - if you "copy" 1,000 pictures by creating new image files and redrawing them pixel by pixel, and all that without eating.

There is nothing ridiculous about Quaesy's post! O_o
In the past, I often heard people saying that if you don't import resources, you would eventually get the "map tree data break" error and all you work would be lost, etc. etc. - This isn't true, but Quaesy might have heard it too and might have been afraid of doing something wrong. There is nothing wrong with ensuring that his project is safe!

Maybe you erroneously have a huge amount of monster groups (50000+)?

Changing Special Symbols rm2k3

Exactly the same way. Look at "String Table".

How do I Stop the Rm2k3 Screen Blinking?

I tried creating a RMXP version, but it's not so easy because RMXP uses 24-bit color and a higher resolution. This will result in color loss and also will be 4 times slower. Plus, RMXP uses a different method of key input which causes problems with the way I "hook" the game window.

Dangers to pasting resources directly into folders?

There are no dangers. The "Don't copy resources, it'll trash your project" thing is a myth.

However, make sure the images' color depth is 8 bit (256 colors), not 24 bit! Otherwise you'll get an "Invalid PNG image" message and the game will close.
