What Videogames Are You Playing Right Now?

I decided to step back from the Switch back catalog to tackle a recent uptick in interest in the Megaten games, namely the older ones. And I have to say the older ones will ab-so-lutely kick you square in the sex-bits with difficulty but that's okay...CUZ THOSE BATTLE TRACKS ARE BANGERS. God, man. And here my naïve arse missed out all these years and yet here I have some games that I'm legit excited to have my rear imprinted with a boot by.

Although, listening to the music alone, it feels like the battle themes have grown from being fast and hard hitting to more grandiose, and while they retain some of the same energy...it doesn't hit as hard.

Maybe once I manage to beat IF and a few others, I'mma retackle SMT:IV

What are you jamming to?

I've recent dove back into one of my favorite genres of music - prog. Revisiting Steven Wilson's works recently thanks to his recent release of Eminent Sleaze, and finding it surprising how vast his collective works are in terms of musicianship. I don't think I've heard a bad song from him, or really even a bad album because of how deliberately paced, recorded and mixed it all is.

Also - Yakuza Kiwami and Kiwami 2's OST make me go 100000x harder in the gym, and it's ridiculous.

I have to say - after a full play-through of this, I want to say that this is a well paced game for repeat runs.
I'm very glad to hear this! I wanted to give lots of options to players, more than they could see in one playthrough, so I'm glad you find it worthwhile to play through again.

There's a section in a cave sometime before or after the pirates where you can bypass the cliffs and walk on the sand, and the game begins to lag cuz of it

I'll try to track this down and fix it- if you discover exactly the spot, let me know. The lag could be a result of the caterpillar system freaking out but I'm not sure about that.

Also during Khalid's opening, sometimes his name will change to that of the old soldier guys. No clue why.

I've run into this bug, too, but I can't figure out what's causing the name to change. I swear, I have all the names set correctly, but it still occurs sometimes near the start. It happened to me once (just once) in all my Leonov test runs. It'll remain a mystery, for now.

Once I've run through it and see what each character has to offer, I'll be coming back for a full review

I'm looking forward to it!

I'm stoked to see what the second verse and onward will be like.

That'll be awhile, but I do intend to come back to this at some point in the future! Just don't ask me when.

No worries <3 I'm just enjoying what you've made and am super patient for more ^_^

Alright! The sign ups are closed, and we have a grand total of 45 characters! Which is actually around the average number of units in a regular Fire Emblem... though now with half of the game length so it can feel a little crowded at times. But that's ok, I got the plan of splitting the party mid-way through the game, giving more chance to shine to everyone.

I've already updated the character chart for the last time and sent PMs to all the participants (If I somehow forgot about you please notify me!). The next days I'll be working on organizing everything and hopefully start the working on the game proper. I'll try to keep everyone updated in case anything important comes up.

I want to thank everyone who joined the game! You are awesome.

I will make for a glorious glass cannon! I'm happy to be a part of this :3

Moonsong: First Verse

I have to say - after a full play-through of this, I want to say that this is a well paced game for repeat runs. I'm currently on a second run, using different characters, and other than the occasional hiccup here and there (there's a section in a cave sometime before or after the pirates where you can bypass the cliffs and walk on the sand, and the game begins to lag cuz of it - also during Khalid's opening, sometimes his name will change to that of the old soldier guys. No clue why.)

Children of Morta needs much more love than it got. It's such a wonderful little game - has great characterisation, interesting gameplay and flexibility in how you want to play. And it's so pretty and sounds a treat too. It's criminally unknown. ;.;

It really is! It takes simple story telling and mixes in the family bonds and the way that gradually grows feels organic. That and the combat rewards smart play - although the son is easily OP cuz his chaining ability.

I always recommend it to anyone looking for dungeon crawlers but I tell em they'll get more than that for it.

Children of Morta and Dead Cell are both freakin great games~

Right?? I finally patched up Children of Morta and thinking of starting over now that I have a better grasp on what I was doing. Dead Cells, though - I'm trying to get better at the game itself and while I have one boss cell, the game destroys me when I move up a difficulty level. I REALLY wanna unlock what's beyond the end of the initial run so I'm stubbornly plugging away.

Country of Snow

I decided to go against my weird habit of not downloading demos to check out what you have here and I'm glad I went against my stance.

For this to be 2k3, I'm impressed with what's been done so far - combat is snappy, quick, responsive, and as LordBlueRouge pointed out - you have to pay attention in harder fights. I respect the choice to make your experience gains limited to a handful of encounters and for abilities to provide stat bonuses. It's impressive how effectively the skills work in this, and how thoughtful you have to be with using your own abilities.

Another point I always go on about is mapping - it's simple, well done, but it effectively portrays a sense of measured hopelessness: ruins, small signs of life, lore tucked away in minute snippets between item pick ups and story telling. It's rather impressive.

I can't wait to see more of where this goes~
