Gaia's Epic Love Poem
The first stanza reads like Africa, the "heart of darkness", "blackness", and "danger lurks beyond my sanity". It's as if you're commenting on Conrad's magnum opus.
The rhythm also got kinda spotty. Look at Coleridge's poem "Xanadu - Kubla Khan" He makes good use of alliteration, couplets, and assonance. (This is my favorite poem!!!).
Of course, your poem reflects a more recent movement in poetry writing whereby writers of today will completely drop the rhyme scheme or rhythm. (I could never understand these modern poems, however).

Movie Suggestions...
+1 on Darken's suggestion.
Another good movie is Shawshank Redemption.
I would also check out A Beautiful Mind, it really does a good job at going down the rabbit hole.
Ohh! Also, Schindler's List, for being a better movie than Saving Private Ryan.

[Photoshop Elements] First Image Ever - Advice Please
I was thinking there for a second... For a first timer that's some really good penmanship. Anyways, a good tip for shadows/highlights:
On a separate photoshop layer, put an image of a lightbulb or sun in a certain corner of the screen (you can choose just about anywhere).
Then on the base layers, make the shading with respect to that light source. To me it looks liike you've put your light-source at the upper-right hand corner.
The problem with an imaginary light-source is that for most newbies they tend to forget exactly where they put it, or how exactly the rays cast the shadows. Another good tip here would to draw some rays extending from the lightbulb so you can see exactly what areas would be occluded by the clothing of the character and what areas "gather" more light.

How much space are you talking? Spherical seems slowly dying out, but not necessarily Sphere.
Maybe if there's a way for Spherical to merge (IE: go away) and in its place this community, I think we can preserve both communities and use a server that's really idling on a going-empty sphere community.
I'm just asking here to see if its even tangible or feasible. If so, I could contact Spherical's current admin and arrange something, but no promises will be made.

Hold the Line!
Hold the Line!
In a different version of this game, I'm going to just add the option of having the player choose to send the next wave, whenever. Then you don't have to worry about time. I'm thinking of something more like a fast-forward. So instead of a timer there'd be a shrinking timeline, that you can choose to speed up.

I downloaded the updated version of this. And I'm actually playing it as I write this. Which should say something. Though what it says is not actually entirely positive since before when I played it I actually had to keep an eye on what happened on the screen. Something in the difficulty was turned down for the updated version since in the old version I never got past about 30 waves but right now I'm on wave 40 and I don't even have to look at the screen.
Which does take away from the intenseness of the game.
Yeah, its a weird thing when one says its too hard and another saids its too easy... I've been trying to balance as best as I can. I think the difficulty lacks in the exponential department, I focused too much on linearity.
An interesting notion:
To beat 200 waves means to play the game for more than 8 hours straight. This is due to a flaw, the timer will always increase, and won't automatically send the next wave. So on wave 50, you can easily have 100+ seconds to finish that wave, where 75 seconds is easily spent just sitting for the next wave to come. Where you'd then have 112 seconds, etc.
