Even newspapers have those nowadays.
In business there is no room for friendship. Competitors have to be eliminated at any cost. Fortunately for you, I'm not businessman. I'm a spy.

Controls are acting up while playing Goddess's Tears

It sometimes happens even without gamepad. Usually frantically pressing numlock fixes it for me.

Quasi, got some problems with your script: If speed is too big (for instance when I want to instantly scroll somewhere) camera misses its target. It can even end up on the other side of the map. It is especially visible in case of big maps (like 100x100 big). Could you somehow fix the problem, perhaps after scroll is finished to stiffly assign camera position to x/y of the object/position that is the target?

Will Write, Map, or Voice act for free

Could you record sample of your voice? I may have interesting offer for you if I'll like way you sounds like.

Walking The Line: Development vs. Promotion

I, with my current project, am going with "stealth release" thing. I'll do "some" marketing before (just as I gave it to Fidchell to stream, but it won't be really much and bulk of promotion I'll do after I'll release it.

This promotion would consist of writing to sites that review free indie games, like IndieStatik, RPS (to some extent), etc. I'm not going to stick ONLY to RM corner of the Internet, but get a word out on as many game sites as possible.

Anyway, I don't do demos anymore since I've found out that after I released demo I am losing interest in a project. Anyone remembers The Missile? That was one of many victims.

Thanks, didn't see the edit, probably because you finished writing it after I've already left the page. That will do, thank you.

Also consider adding this to main script as I imagine that it may be useful for others.

Except your solution will scroll either horizontally, vertically or diagonally (by 45 degrees), not "a bit" diagonally (where direction differs by discrete amounts like 5 degs off).

Would you play a game with HORRIFIC art if the story is REALLY Good?

That depends how you'll define "bad graphics". Many people loathe Minecraft for its graphics, yet they are still playing it despite it as gameplay is fun. I'm on a fence here, played some games with graphics clearly made in Paint, yet graphics managed to be consistent and game itself was fun.

I think more important that if graphics are "good" or "bad" is that they are consistent. For example, you are playing game made with 2k3's RTP. Then in one room some tiles are clearly taken from VX Ace's RTP. That isn't good.

Dwarf Fortress history generation algorithms?

Thanks, however I've already discussed it with some people on another forum and come up with algorithm of my own. Since it is a bit complicated and I don't want to repeat myself, I'll link you to this thread: http://www.pascalgamedevelopment.com/showthread.php?32363-Every-story-ends-somewhere

No, I want to pan in any direction possible. I need you to excuse me for my poor MS Paint skills.

Here are all default RM scrolling directions. That's it, 8 directions separated by 45 degrees each.

I want to be able to scroll in any direction possible (blue line), with direction being set in degrees (0-359 range).

What makes a good MMORPG?

I've always was fan of class-less environments. All characters have access to all skills and weapons if they want to learn/use those (adding skills as character levels up won't work because of sheer amount of skills so "skill teachers" would be needed). This way you could build mage who wears strong armor and can use a battleaxe. So characters won't end up the same assuming there isn't any balance issues that will make one build stronger than others.

That being said, I'm still standing by my first post.
