2023 Gaming Diary

Finished off Final Fantasy 7, this time doing all the optional stuff and getting 100% (as far as steam is concerned with achievements) for the first time. Got very annoying and tedious at some points, but I'm still happy that I did it. Finally beating the Weapons was cool even if it was just cheese strats. Felt like I put something to rest.

Ran through FF1 afterwards for a laugh, on the DoS GBA port. Used a team I've never played before. Fun times, easy as hell. Wondering how the Steam Remaster is re: difficulty. Will probably try it after I update to Win 10.

My wife said I can't buy FFVI Remaster until I finish Hero's Realm

Really shows how much time I piss away that Kentona is already out-pixelling me, esp at animations.

For real though, your progress with pixel art has been pretty astounding so far. love to see it, it inspires me to try harder.

Started FF8 since I've never played it, and it got me in that mood so whoops I started FF7 as well. Probably will do 9 again once one of them is done, idk.

Also started up Disc Creatures after someone on the Discord posted a trailer for another Poke-like thing called Cassette Beasts. Totally forgot I even had it.

Unfortunately dropped Weird and Unfortunate Things Are Happening. Sorry, unity! It just kind of got away from me. Will have to try it again sometime, cause I was enjoying it. But I might have to start over to get back in, idk.

Final Fantasy Essence 2k3

Ah, the Final Fantasy fangame. Such a staple of RM,, you gotta love it.

Are the graphics original (or a mix)? Some of it looks like I may have seen it before, but some looks like it was handmade. If they're original then kudos to you or whoever made them, I know myself how complicated emulating the FF SNES look is.

Started and finished Garden Story over the weekend. Really fun little game, maybe wish there was a bit more to it but maybe that'd end up feeling like clutter. 100%'d it anyways. Probably one of the best looking indie games I've played in a long time, pixel art wise.

Finished Pokemon: Fool's Gold a while ago but never made a post for it. It was a very fun and creative romhack, really loved a lot of the new designs for the re-typed mons. Pretty good at keeping you on your feet with the changes. Also really appreciated the detail that went into it, how the team changed all the map sprites and dialogue references to pokemon to reflect the re-typed designs and typing. Helped it feel a lot more cohesive than most hacks.

No JRPG is complete without a beam laser attack, after all

This is why I love the RM community even still, after so many years. This is in 2k3. That's SO cool.

spriting is hard why didn't anyone tell me

I told you about stairs bro, I warned you

RPG Maker Game Cocktail Names

Could have a Blackmoon for Final Fantasy: Blackmoon Prophecy. Everlong = Everclear, could be a spirit like IRL or a mix drink. Seraphic Blue could also work. A "Sore Loser" could be a cocktail too.
