nicob has nothing else to do but let's try's after purging magi's resource folder.

gunna jive about Love and War for a bit. i saved ya'll a seat.

if this were 5 dollars on a mobile device. i'd buy it. man, that pisses me off so hard. like, would love to hand pick some games and just say "put these on mobile devices for humanity to enjoy because you created an entertaining product"

it's funny to me too, because society will allow someone who is good at sports to get carried to fame and fortune, while the creator of LAW is asking for paypal donations because times are tough. where is the justice in that?

Residence of Mechah Mechanical

yeah, i mean gunstar heroes is universally beloved. i mean, i don't go out of my way to play it, but mischief makers and gunstar heroes are a wild experience. i probably like mischief makers a little more, but i wouldn't say i follow treasure games religiously. it's more like "oh these are cool".

they do some really clever things, and try to produce different effects, much like contra. unfortunately i played contra hardcorp before gunstar, so it was like "yawn" because once you've experienced the crazy stuff they do it's hard to top it.

it's funny because, sometimes it's not really about the game (mischief makers has great gameplay) but more about the characters in game or just the universe itself, which makes mischief makers just so,so good. it really defines the world, and that's really neat because you want to explore it.

Yes, yes, yes. We have our eyes out for shitty blogs, but at the same time are bringing back the weekly blog-thing to give kudos to good blogs.

Worry not, you'll be able to find the good blogs. They'll be pointed out for all to see.

when? all i am seeing are one liner derp blogs as usual.

How come people don't explain their features? They just..

i think people are probably scared to really think about it or admit they take inspiration from others. i think this is a line between totally lifting and just taking certain ideas and expanding them or creating them in your own personal image.

to be honest with you, when it comes to writing or scenario development i will turn to either books or movies as the medium, and more technical and some visual aspects from video games.

it's interesting to view other peoples ideas, but, like i said people do not share because it would just be various bleach scenes which isn't very inspirational.

Example of completed one:

yeah, like, it's cool how it's just concepts and ideas plucked from the most obscure things. it's quite possible the reason for this is because rm design is less about artistic creation, and more about robotically copying a formula. who knows.

How come people don't explain their features? They just..

yeah man, seriously. after i wrote this i started to think. how come people don't explain why they actually insert content into their games?

like, you will always see "ff materia system is in it because it's cool heh" and it's very very weird to hear this from people. it's like a robotic feature and they have absolutely no opinion or feelings on it. "i made a big sword because cloud does"

it scares me.

Publishers accused of trying to exploit Kickstarter

kickstarter is a cesspool.

i've said this several times, but kickstarter has went from funding indie devs who want to get their foot in the door to give people a creative experience beyond a certain demographic to, companies and people who actually work or HAVE worked in the industry to monopolize the site through connections and absurd rewards.

people who support these are awful, but the thing is, they don't know any better. david crane, cheeteman2, etc all scamming people.

use your brain, use your head before you support a kickstarter and you'll know which things to fund and which to don't.

i've seen kickstarter do few good, and a lot of awful.
