I agree with Craze, momeka. We need more cute 8-bit inspired fare.
This was the original tint planned for this area. The cloud overlay is very faint now, but still there.
But I'll look into the character sets ( even if it does mean redoing all of them eventually, but I've got to finish this 30 hour behemoth first ;_; ).

why do people think adding random beams of light on daytime maps look good? THEY MAKE NO SENSE! >_<
Maybe because most of the guys who use those heavenly rays have no idea how to add atmosphere to their maps. :/ The opposite applies to horror games. They just slap on some cheap lighting effects and too-dark rooms.
I ditched the heavenly rays of light a while ago. I just prefer to use a cloud overlay to create light and shadow.

As An Adult, Do You Find Yourself Playing More Video Games At This Age Or Less?
Tbh, I never played a lot of games even in my youth. I was only exposed to the JRPG at age 13 back in 2001 and have played precious few games since then. Ever since getting my paws in RPGMaker back in 2009, I haven't had time to play a lot of games ( apart from playing FF12 like 3-4 times and a couple of older Fire Emblem games ). I just find more joy in designing them.

@Dookie and Punkitt: I do admit, making custom sprite sheets can be a bit daunting at times, but I'll see what I can do. I could really use the help of an additional spriter for my project... Just to handle the sprites other fix-ups. ><
