THATBENNYGUY'S PROFILE

I am CashmereCat now.

~~~
Twisted baubles replace my brain and I am toxic yet nice. There's a lot to me, but also not a lot going on up there, they say. PM me because I love attention, I do interviews, I do reviews, I do stuff. Here for the long haul. Gotta hustle.
I'm working on whatever I'm working on, and I love RPG Maker games that aren't traditional RPGs. Puzzlers, interactive stories, but nothing too abstract that'll weird me out. Just give me a polished gem and I'll stare at it for days, marveling at the way the light reflects just right, inner inflections, potato top pie.
I want to make games with you.
Don't worry kentona, let me flip a dime for you.
...
Future Helper it is.
When did you figured it out that you were a gamer?
I still haven't.
New version is up! Includes combat flow improvements and bug fixes
Cool. I haven't been on Skype for a while (my aunty is staying in my room while she's in the country, and I'm sleeping in the lounge now) but I see that pretty much all of the suggestions I made were implemented. Thanks for making me feel like I'm important. Lol. But really, these are really good improvements and I think they benefit the game greatly. You were probably already thinking of them before I suggested them, but I like to think I'm at least of some use ;)
I'm excited to see how this goes in the future!
Anime List
I don't claim to be well-versed in anime TV series (movies I am more familiar with), but Steins;Gate really struck a good chord with me. It prevents all the familiar cliches of anime that are off-putting to the non-initiated (like myself), opting for an intelligent thrill-ride that explores the nature of time travel like few TV series do. That, along with a heartfelt romance between two likable characters, bucking the trend of having the main protagonist always doted over by his harem of attractive, large-busted ladies. The few anime cliches the series does use, it employs in such a self-referential manner in order to make it fresh and interesting.
I am not a big fan of those who prioritize "feels" over good story, so series like Clannad didn't strike a chord with me. At least the first season didn't. The second season was a clever switch on the traditional high school romance, showing what would happen after such a thing would occur. Touching on themes such as unemployment, sickness and general hopelessness, I thought it was a much more mature outing than Season 1, even if the endings didn't really wrap themselves up too much at the end. An excuse about a parallel universe later, and we're back to Steins;Gate territory, except far less fleshed out and much more naive about the possibilities.
Films-wise, I am much more well versed. My favourite anime film is a Miyazaki film, Kiki's Delivery Service. It is a quietly powerful film, showing Kiki's loss of flight as a metaphor for her slow realization that adulthood isn't as peachy as she thought it would be. A slow descent into vulnerability that leaves this kids film a bit more potent than it really ought to be. Close to this film's grace is Porco Rosso, a heady political statement on fascism and war.
I've yet to see The Wind Rises, but I really want to.
My favourite animated film outside Japan and America would probably be the Triplets of Belleville. It is a near wordless film that plays like a newspaper caricature, perfectly depicting struggle through hopelessness and using a beautiful array of animation techniques to achieve brilliance without even saying many words. The Illusionist is also close. I think I have a thing for quiet films.
will we ever find the ABL of vx games?
Sure, right after we find the Godfather of modern cinema.
Let's work on your game descriptions!
author=sempersapiens
I'm planning on submitting my first game soon, and the description I've written so far is definitely too short. How can I improve what I have so far, and what other details should I add? Thanks!
"An engineer in a Star-Trek-inspired future wakes up from a nap to find that most of her co-workers have been replaced by monsters. Fighting her way through the hallways of the starship, she encounters other survivors of the mysterious disaster, and they band together to search for answers about what happened. Throughout their adventure, our heroes fight a variety of adversaries, solve some puzzles, and even dabble in theater production.
Slimes is a traditional RPG in a science-fiction setting, and approximately an hour long."
To beef it up, I would include descriptions of gameplay features, character information, setting information, credits and other stuff.
