PROFESSOR_Q'S PROFILE
I've been a fan and follower of RPG Maker games of all sorts since 2012. My all-time favourite has to be "Love and War: Act I", closely followed by "The Way" and "Romancing Walker". (Yes, I'm weird that way!)
I'm not particularly good at game design, though I can write plot-lines reasonably well. While waiting for the rest of Love and War to come out, I've also written three full-length stories set in the Love and War universe, which you can read over at the Love and War forums. (I go by Professor Q over there, surprise, surprise!)
I also enjoy reviewing games, though I tend to write about games I enjoyed playing. If a review of mine sounds critical, it's meant to spur the developer to do better.
I'm also experimenting with RPG Makers XP and VX, so watch this space.

The Farming One Review
author=JorgeAamelo
A year and a half later and surprisingly we are still getting reviews! And to think back in the day we were worried if submitting this here would be worth it. :P
Well, judging by the response so far, it was certainly worth it! =)
Thanks very much for your review. Amusingly enough, only a few months ago when I went to revisit the project I noticed the Harvestium Pickaxe glitch and went "O-Oh". Although we spent a lot of time fixing stuff like typos and such yet we still left something as major as that slip. Oh well, what is done is done. :P
Well, it's hardly a big deal, and it doesn't affect gameplay in the least. Besides, having at least a working knowledge of RPG Maker, I know that such errors are very easy to make and to pass unnoticed. =)
Thanks again!
You're welcome, and thank you for creating such a fun, lively and replayable game! ^_^
Goodbye for now.

I have several thumb drives, a secondary harddrive, an external harddrive, a Google Drive and Dropbox and OneDrive, plus I even have a few data CDs with backups burned to them.
Now that's something I can admire! I really ought to be more careful next time. Thanks for the idea.
I have more trouble tracking which project is the most CURRENT than losing data to loss.
I'm afraid I'm quite the opposite, mainly because I'm a part-timer (or amateur, let me be honest) in the most basic sense of the word. I do have one other idea that I'm trying to develop, but it's still at the paper-and-pencil stage (or its digital equivalent) right now. In any case, hats off to you! =)
Goodbye for now.

I just back up the project file, that has both the data and all the graphics I've imported. I use a USB/flash drive, but anything from Cloud storage to an external hard drive will work ^_^
Good luck! :DDD
Thanks a lot! I've just purchased a USB drive only for backups. So far, so good. Now to figure out how to draw a nice castle using RPG Maker XP RTP tiles.. =)
Goodbye for now.
@Kenton A.: I realize that this makes me sound like a bigger "Dope!" than Prince Ryle from Romancing Walker, but I didn't have any. Insert animated GIF of me kicking myself here. =(
As for being topical: I don't want to fall prey to John Romero Syndrome, but I am working on something new...
@Unity: I shall certainly do that in future! Thanks. What I'm going to do this time is write out the game script (I generally have an easier time writing than coding) at length, in between my numerous other (professorial and non-professorial) diversions, and then start coding it when I get a long break - which should be around June. The "one year" is just me being realistic (or pessimistic) ^_^
(Newbie question: when backing up, do I just need to back up the folder containing my game data / project file, or anything else?)

Introducing the newest game in the Love and War universe...
And so Lavie joins the ranks of Marle and Shana! I wonder what her element will be? ^_^ (I'm counting on Fire, somehow: those red eyes give the game away!) Looking forward to this: can you use testers Professorial Consultants?
[RMVX Ace] Looking for a few good team members!
Hey, I'm late to this party! Let me join in though...
Not sure about the crowd-funding thing, but this sounds like a lot of fun. (Though if you pull the "It Was Just A Dream" trope again, I shall groan!) =)
Would love to help, but I'm hardly an authority on coding or mapping. Perhaps I could make Executive Producer? ^_^

Happy Birthday Review
Good review. I agree with you on the length - and I wonder if an interface of this sort would work when it came to sustaining a longer mystery or detective story (say, one with more focus on characters, or more puzzles.)
Love and War: Act I
author=Admiral Styles
Hello there RelM, many thanks for giving Love and War a go! There sure are a ton of RPG Maker games out there, so I'm glad you managed to find and enjoy Act I of LAW. :) To respond to your comments:
1. I do believe that's so! (But I've actually only played the first one. I really should get around to going through the whole series...
2. Interesting, interesting. Yeah, voices are definitely something people will have varying reactions to. That sound level issue was an unfortunate result of actors using what microphones they had, alas. If you can believe it, I actually boosted the audio levels for the soft sounds as much as I dared. C'est la vie...
3. That's not a bad idea, actually.
4. I rather wish Juno would have had his own battle sprites too, but I suppose that would have been a lot of additional (artistic) work to do. :(
Q1. Oh man, it sounds like a testing tool was somehow left in?! *buries face in hands* Just, uh... ignore her...
Q2. A plot branch allowing Lavie on board would be pretty interesting... but alas, it would kind of mess up what happens next, so no, she can only make that jump in fanfiction. :)
Thanks once again for playing Act I, and sharing your thoughts!
This calls for some major fan-fic featuring Lavie catching the ship, and the Sword of the Fallen Gods. I can see it already. =)
Love and War: Act I Review
The Endless Road
author=BurningTygerauthor=Professor_QI guess something major came up. Also, where did you get those vaguely-rectangular crystals?
Thanks! I'm trying to portray the level where the personal and political interact. Right
now, I've completed the first major set of quests and have reached a turning point. I'm not coming down in favour of any particular ideology - in fact, I leave it to the player to decide which "path" he or she wants to follow! =)
I should have something playable out by March, barring anything major.
My apologies. Something pretty major did come up - and then another thing, and then another. Sometimes, quoth the bard, life don't leave you alone. The good news is that I'm (more or less) over the curve now, and should have something up in the next 2 weeks. Honest. =)
Also: the large crystals are default RPG Maker XP graphics... ^_^
