"Life is a riddle I wish I had the answer for..."
I've been a fan and follower of RPG Maker games of all sorts since 2012. My all-time favourite has to be "Love and War: Act I", closely followed by "The Way" and "Romancing Walker". (Yes, I'm weird that way!)

I'm not particularly good at game design, though I can write plot-lines reasonably well. While waiting for the rest of Love and War to come out, I've also written three full-length stories set in the Love and War universe, which you can read over at the Love and War forums. (I go by Professor Q over there, surprise, surprise!)

I also enjoy reviewing games, though I tend to write about games I enjoyed playing. If a review of mine sounds critical, it's meant to spur the developer to do better.

I'm also experimenting with RPG Makers XP and VX, so watch this space.

(For those interested, my profile quote is from this song:

Maya's Wish

Just downloaded the new demo. Now I can see the graveyard, but my player character is invisible! O_O While it is possible to navigate the map blindfold (I bumped into James Wonders' grave - I presume that's Ellie's dad?) you might want to turn that transparency / visibility flag on. (Or is Ellie now a ghost? ^_^)

Resonate ~call out my angel~

Outstanding. I've put up a review, I hope it gets approved soon! ^_^
Terrific work.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but there seems to be a bug: after beating the final boss (the Lich King), you can go back and fight him again. Doing so causes the game to blank out when you return to the overworld. Why did I try doing that? Because I'm absent-minded and forgot if I'd beaten him on that save file. D'oh!!! ^_^

Someone Killed the Butler Review

Thank you very much for taking the time to write a review! I'm glad that you enjoyed the game. The entire game's system was coded to be very reusable, so who knows-- perhaps there will be more murder mysteries like it in the future.

(I actually have done some coding, art, and helped brainstorm the concept for another murder mystery for McBacon Jam 3. The story-writing is not my own; however, I can vouch that psy_wombats is a wonderful-- and speedy!-- writer.)

I'm going to check that out right away. And looking forward to your future endeavours! =)

Somewhat off topic, but your reviews (I've read a couple of your others) have a very distinctive voice. They read like something you'd find in an English Literature class-- that kind of almost antiquated, elevated, lofty style. It's rare to see people using phrases like "RPGs as a genre are to a degree inherently formulaic". Props to you!

Hmm, I guess my mother should take the praise (or blame) for that. She's the literature professor in the family, and has always tried to improve my writing style. Thanks! ^_^

Project1 Review

Thanks, Prof Q! Glad you enjoyed the game and recommend it highly. Your words are kind and encouraging. Plus I don't want to generate too much hype, but Project2 is definitely on the cards. It's something I've been thinking about doing for the past couple weeks and it seems like the ideas are ever flowing. Again, much thanks for your insightful commentary, and I hope to see you around as much as I can visit this site.

Thanks, and looking forward to it (whatever form it will eventually take!)

See you around too, and have a great day! ^_^

Excellent game. I'll be putting a review up shortly. ^_^

Maya's Wish

Just started playing your demo (looks interesting so far), but it fades to black after a cutscene with Ellie's parents and the music keeps playing - no text box, no "end of demo". Bug, feature, or artistic statement? ^_^

Someone Killed the Butler

Enjoyed this game! I should have a review up fairly soon.
Good work. ^_^

I accidently broke my pen for my drawing tablet trying to replace the nib

Sorry to hear about the setback...
All the best! ^_^

Militibus Elementis Arc 1 Review

"Is it extra cheesy?"

Best video game line ever. ^_^

Progress Report on the game

Great idea! It's always good to stay focused on a bunch of main characters.
