Wow. That is mindblowing, Blind. Seriously looks like a 2D PS1 or GBA game. Is the panorama custom as well?
What RPG Maker do you use?
I use 2k3. I've been using it since it came out in 2003. Once I release my current project, I'm going to move on to a new maker. I'll be satisfied after I release this game because of its immense scope.
Need help on rewording some lines (For a tutorial piece)
Are you a fellow fan of FF2 on Famicom? I completed it for the first time a couple months ago and absolutely loved it.
What's your genre; what do you want to impress?
As others mentioned, I want players to have fun.
Beyond that, I want to create a memorable experience. I want my game to touch people in ways that some of my favorite games touched me. I want players to become attached the characters in my game, and I hope to inspire feelings of both sadness and satisfaction when the journey is over. I hope to create something that people can reflect on, and when doing so, I want people to remember their playing experience fondly.

Post yourself thread!
I'm a very "old school" forum user in that I still feel weird even telling people my first name (been browsing forums since the early 2000s). With that being said, if you've ever wondered what a guy who considers RPG Maker mapping one of his favorite hobbies looks like, here I am:

This looks really cool! Let me know if you ever need help with anything. I can help with mapping and coding events and you can always bounce ideas off of me.

Also, It'd be neat to find a way to somehow incorporate these scenes into your game as well: Like in Final Fantasy 7, whenever you were asked to change discs - you'd usually see a scene of Barret and Marlene at Sector 5's Church or Aeris glancing at Highwind - stuff like that, goes a long way in filling in the blanks for some of these characters.
I concur that this would be really cool! I've always wanted to do something similar in my game but I have neither the funds to commission the artwork nor the prowess to do it myself. Looks great! This fits the game extremely well. I found myself staring at the leaves up top for a while.
