Exactly (or approximately) how expensive would it be to "update" RMN?
Let's work on your game descriptions!

Could use some capitalization, and a bit of revision on punctuation. So, maybe more like...The year is 2145, and the Earth is at peace. People go on with their daily lives. However, it did not last long. They started to have problems with corrupt law enforcement, and attacks from an alien source for Earth's resources.
...this? I could be mis-readingmore thana few things on my end, though.
This paragraph changes from passive/present tense to active/past tense halfway through. This can be fixed by switching the "is"es to "was"es.

Anybody have a game called Ninja Adventures?
I don't remember a thing about it, but while browsing some old websites on the Wayback Machine, I found a review I posted for it in (probably) 2003. Apparently it had an ABS and involved saving a friend by gathering elemental orbs. I wrote in the review, "somehow, this game was fun."

I've had this tileset before, but now I can't seem to find it. What's the site you got it from? Ignore any accidental double-post.

Exile's Journey
author=KoopaKushauthor=dethmetalThat's pretty dope dude, not bad at all! I was expecting a blast beat to be thrown in there with the drumming haha, good stuff tho, I dig it :)
Just for fun - I tried to make one of the battle themes from my game sound like it's from a SNES title. This won't be in the actual game because I only plan on using .midi files, so I'm not going to waste too much time making it sound perfect.

Thanks! The drumming is a bit complicated for what would actually be present in a SNES track, but oh well.
author=Blindauthor=dethmetalI respect your choice to go old-school-RPGMaker and use pure MIDI, but I really liked that rendition above! Maybe you could offer an MP3 version using more sophisticated soundfonts? It could theoretically be more consistent with the 16-bit visual approach.

I've thought about this. The only problem is that this would be incredibly time consuming. There are a lot of midi files in my game, and it would take a long time to convert them. I did used to have some .mp3s present in the game, but it felt too inconsistent. Going to a new area and suddenly hearing an .mp3 play after listening to nothing but .midi files for 5 hours is kind of jarring and it takes you out of the game, in my opinion.
It's possible that I may release a "special edition" with updated music after my game is released, because I can definitely improve the sound quality a lot by doing without the raw midi files.
For my next game, I plan to use all-original music that is properly synthesized. I'm very tired of the default Microsoft wavetable synth, and I'm sure most others are too!

I'd just like to second the idea of some sort of late backing option, even if it's just the ability to pre-order.
I agree that 9.99 is just about perfect, and I like your reasoning. If Nintendo decided that most gamers are willing to pay $9.99 to play classic SNES RPGs, you may as well use that as a guideline for your own game.

I was able to configure the plug-in to move the gauges closer together and it looked great, but for some reason, this produced some weird bugs. When I have the gauges any closer together, the color of their graphics sometimes distorts. In addition, the game produces an error message whenever you quit out of it, which forces you to close it in Task Manager. There seems to be an issue with the plug-in I'm using. Unless I can figure something out, I may have to leave the gauges as they are.
