[RM2K3] Modern Tools for RPG Maker 2003 Modifying

VIPRPG isn't a tool, it's basically a genre of RPG Maker games in the Japanese community:

Eldritch Law

Is this game still being worked on?

Originally, seeing the enemy's information on screen was going to involve having a special item equipped called the Essence Lens.

There are no random encounters in this game, except for on the world map (and these can be avoided by simply staying on dirt paths).

Any games as good as The Way

Like Dethmetal said, A Blurred Line is probably your best bet, though you might also like Final Fantasy: Endless Nova, and the Legion Saga series (the first one is kinda meh, but the second one is pretty rad).

Seconded on Endless Nova, although it's been a long time since I played it.

I actually think the first Legion Saga is pretty decent, but it's severely hampered by a painfully slow walking speed and high random encounter rate. At the time of its release, though, it was probably the best completed RM2K game out there.

What do you think was the best year/era for RPG Maker?

This topic is inspired by a post Kentona made in Ocean's 10 year anniversary blog post for Paradise Blue:

https://rpgmaker.net/games/251/blog/21888/#posts

Kentona stated facetiously that 2009 was the best year for RM. In context, this was more of a joke than a serious statement (he was referencing the fact that both Paradise Blue and his own game came out this year), but this got me thinking. What actually was the best year for RPG Maker?

I know this may be a difficult question to answer, because it's not always easy to remember the year that certain games were released. Because of this, feel free to mention a particular era or time period instead.

A BLURRED LINE v2.1

If Lys started a Kickstarter for Line's End, I would donate an obscene amount of money towards it.

Side Projects:

I have two ideas for games that I am excited to get started on. I'm actually using my excitement towards these ideas as motivation to finish my current game, because the sooner I get it done, the sooner I can get started on my next project.

Maybe it'd be a good idea to let us know what you liked about the game. There's a bunch of amazing games on the site that match up to and/or overtake the quality of The Way, but maybe you want something that lets you turn off all battles or something that has a deep, intricate story, or maybe you want more plunge-like battles.

This. What did you like about the game? The story? The battle system?

One RPG classic that will surely get recommended eventually is A Blurred Line. That game has a great story, amazing dialogue, and a fun battle system. Check it out. It's hosted here. Only problem is that we've been waiting since 2002 for the sequel/finale to come out (Line's End). The developer, Lys, returns to the community every few years to let us know that it's still in production, but who knows if it'll ever actually come out.

Theia - The Crimson Eclipse Review

Wow. Better than Chrono Trigger? That's insanely high praise! And here I am, hoping that my game is at least half as good as the SNES classics.

+++ DynRPG - The RM2k3 Plugin SDK +++

DynRPG desperately needs to be compatible with the Steam version of RM2K3 because as far as I know, we only have the Maniac Patch as an alternative means to expand the features on that engine, unless anyone can provide a link to a larger BattleCharSet and CharSet patch?

Is this planned? Accordingly to the license agreement, mods are fully allowed. The only thing stopping me from using the legal version is that my game relies on DynRPG patches.
