AVEE'S PROFILE
Avee
5794
I started to design games at age 5, drawing maps and sprites with felt pens and paper. Then I began writing stories and game scenarios. I've been working with Rpg Maker 2000 and 2003 mostly, as soon as they came out.
I favor RPGs, Action RPGs and Fighting games. My favorite styles are Fantasy, Horror and anything dark or gothic. I also appreciate cute and funny content.
I make a lot of pixel art and some digital art (concept, promo, fanart, etc.)
I also compose 8-bit music.
Don't be shy and send me a message if you want to commission my work ;)

Heartbreak + Setbacks
Damn, that was unlucky. But I'm glad that the backup was okay.
Hang in there, Kenton! And great work everyone!

[RM2K3] CBS - is it worth it?
@Bluefeathr42:
I'm one of the few odd Rm2k3 users who only makes and enjoys CBSs in my own projects.
To implement a CBS is similar to using parallax mapping or to make a custom skill learning and upgrading menu for instance: It's harder and more time-consuming to make, but is usually more attractive to players than using the engine's default features.
The kind of battle operations that you want to create can easily be done using Variables, Conditions and a bunch of other event commands. You should probably look into tutorials about those, if you haven't already.
Is it worth doing? I guess that depends on the reason why you want to make a game.
I would imagine that if you have commercial ambitions or want no limits in the kind of gameplay that you can create, then you should use a more suitable engine.
But if you want to make a CBS for your own enjoyment, as a challenge or to level up your general game design skills, well, that was worth it to me, so maybe it will be worth it to you.

Seasons of RMN IV
No guarantee that I'll make a game but if I do I'll use the Pa-lettes event assets I made last year.
Mine Fu
author=Romanchill
Cannot open the vehicle file
This problem is likely caused by not having the Rpg Maker 2003 RTP installed on your computer.
It might be fixed by pasting this RPG_RT.ini file over the current one in Mine Fu's game folder: https://rpgmaker.net/media/content/users/15964/locker/RPG_RT.ini
Mine Fu Review
This review is a pleasant surprise! I just realized that Mine Fu is pretty old and I feel like I could easily fix its issues. Maybe I should remake this game someday...
Thank you for your fun account of your experience and the feedback :D

Cuties & Clues Review
This video review was my awesome present for the 2020 Secret Santa community event. Thank you again Aldu!
I really like how you wrote and presented it. Are you planning to make more video reviews of other RMN games?
About that, I designed the battle UI first and ended up with a large empty space on the right side. I didn't like that, so I decided to put the logo there. Lazy decision, but then I imagined that it would be funny to plaster it everywhere :P

I felt this limited the UI design for the game because the developer accounted for having the logo in every spot.

Blood & Grime
This is real pretty!
The walking looks smooth and the menus seem very well coded.
Will there be hotkeys to open and close the characters' stats or inventory without having to click on them?

Cuties & Clues Review
Indeed, there are lots of options to expand the game. If I do remake it, I'll turn it into a "proper" RPG with an actual story, character development, deeper gameplay and better art and music.
Right now I'm not convinced that a remake would be successful enough to be worth the effort...
And maybe that Cuties & Clues is fun because of what it is: a short, simple and unambitious game.
Maybe I just lack confidence?
I'm torn about a remake also because I have other commercial projects in preparation, and I believe in those more.
