AVEE'S PROFILE
Avee
5794
I started to design games at age 5, drawing maps and sprites with felt pens and paper. Then I began writing stories and game scenarios. I've been working with Rpg Maker 2000 and 2003 mostly, as soon as they came out.
I favor RPGs, Action RPGs and Fighting games. My favorite styles are Fantasy, Horror and anything dark or gothic. I also appreciate cute and funny content.
I make a lot of pixel art and some digital art (concept, promo, fanart, etc.)
I also compose 8-bit music.
Don't be shy and send me a message if you want to commission my work ;)

1.44 Floppy Disc Event
@Soulrain: Cute game! Some passages are more stressful and I liked them, the skyscrapers stage especially. I know that we can change the controls in the emulator but I think that it would feel more natural to jump with A and run with B. I also ran into one funny bug where an arrow stopped moving and remained in midair. Good job on the stages' themes, art and music!
@kory_toombs: A charming, feel-good game. I was wondering where the plot was going but then the ending answered the question :) I played in my browser and didn't run into any bugs. Well done!

author=iddalaiauthor=AveeI would take your offer if I wasn't too afraid of becoming ambitious and probably never finishing the project thus wasting your time and talent :P
I love the idea!
If anybody needs a pixel artist, let me know.
Otherwise, I might make a game on my own.
I like a challenge. I wouldn't say no to making something ambitious in record time.
If you already have a concept or story in mind, we can discuss how to keep it small :)

[RMVX ACE] Blurry face (bust edit help needed)
[RM2K3] ideas of a story for a zelda game
I would look at every story of every Zelda game released and then think of something that hasn't been done before.
Or make a sequel or prequel, expanding upon an existing story. For instance, take a minor villain from an existing game and make him the main villain this time around.

The Sound of Game Make
I don't know about beginners, but as someone who's been composing for years yet never managed to learn music notation, this guide is very easy to understand. I'll refer to it in the future.
Would it be possible to add a music file to every step of the Strange New World tutorial? To hear the piece being built progressively might help our understanding further.
That is absolutely true and wise advice.
Indeed. I'm going off on a tangent here, but I don't know if that comes from experience, from how strong you feel about your music, how connected you are with it, or some other obscure reasons. Once the skeleton of a music track is set in place, it often seems like the accompanying melodies and chords just pop out of nowhere and fit like puzzle pieces.
Maybe it's similar to when we internalize popular patterns and chords, and then correctly guess the next notes of a song we listen to for the first time.

I have come from the future of this article to isolate this spot, because I feel like more than anything else I say anything in this article, following the advice in the above paragraph is the most crucial thing you can do. Play with the music. By all means, waste type making gibberish songs you think sound cool. Try and replicate your favorite pieces of music. Do the Terminator theme. Try to recreate your favorite Final Fantasy songs. Legend of Zelda. Super Mario Bros. Arrange your favorite cartoon themes. Try to do some Daft Punk. Obsess over this. This more than anything is going to help you understand how music comes together.
That is absolutely true and wise advice.
It's almost like it writes itself! I don't know how it works for other people. I can't help but think that maybe I think really strange, but when I listen to my pattern, I can sort of start to hear other instruments accompanying it, and I quickly get a very firm grasp of what my song sounds like.

Berserk (1997 series)
A dark Medieval fantasy with mature themes, badass characters and brutal fights, following Guts' youth as a mercenary who slowly bonds with a band lead by the awe-inspiring Griffith. They gain the trust of the king as they help end a war but spark the jealousy of other nobles. The show focuses on how individual dreams can bring people together or break them apart and affect them deeply. Oh, and there are demons and black magic too. If you enjoy Goblin Slayer and Claymore, you'll probably like it.
Hellsing Ultimate
Set in the late 90s, the Hellsing military organization fights vampires and other creatures in England, lead by the most badass woman ever, Integra, a human whom the most powerful vampire in the world, Alucard, serves as his master. And then Nazi vampires and ghouls attack Hellsing, and mutants with various super powers lure Alucard away so the Nazis can burn London to the ground. Oh, and the Vatican's super soldiers also take the opportunity to attack both the Nazi monsters and the Protestant country. It's a hell of a ride that keeps surprising you at every turn and the characters are all very charismatic.
Macross Plus
A tale of 3 friends with similar dreams who were pulled apart by a terrible incident. Many years later, two of them, Isamu and Guld, achieve their dream of becoming test pilots but become bitter rivals working at the same base. The third one, Myung, becomes a singer, quits and manages a virtual idol, Sharon, by supplying Sharon's AI with her own emotions. Each character hides secrets and struggles to "forgive and forget" as they try to come to terms with one another. There are a few similarities with the movie Top Gun, cool aerial fights, likeable characters and a beautiful soundtrack. It's one of those movies that once you know every plot twist, every line of dialogue and scenes that might have been confusing earlier suddenly make a lot of sense.
