AVEE'S PROFILE

I started to design games at age 5, drawing maps and sprites with felt pens and paper. Then I began writing stories and game scenarios. I've been working with Rpg Maker 2000 and 2003 mostly, as soon as they came out.
I favor RPGs, Action RPGs and Fighting games. My favorite styles are Fantasy, Horror and anything dark or gothic. I also appreciate cute and funny content.

I make a lot of pixel art and some digital art (concept, promo, fanart, etc.)
I also compose 8-bit music.

Don't be shy and send me a message if you want to commission my work ;)

Kill the Cutie

Thank you for the stream Liberty. I'm glad that you enjoyed my game :D

It made me aware of a few more bugs so I'll be trying to fix those. And I like the suggestion of grayscaling dead characters and find another way to indicate innocence.

F-I-E-N-D-S

Just finished playing it! Here are my thoughts:

Story: 5/5
Despite being a game about devouring innocents, it is surprisingly light and comedic. I really enjoyed the constant flow of funny dialogues and situations that were perfectly in line with the characters.
Nothing felt out of place or random: the events always made sense. This is a really well written, short game that could easily be a successful proof of concept for a bigger project.

Gameplay: 3/5
Fun, creative ideas here but I felt that they were underused. I really liked the shapeshifting and I wish there would have been more uses for it (the humanoid form doesn’t seem to ever be useful?). The one battle was an easy win in 2 turns and I didn’t need to use all of the characters’ abilities.
Here again I think that if you expanded upon those ideas it could make for a fantastic game.

Overall: 8/10
In one word: Enjoyable :D

7 Minutes

Here are my thoughts on the game!

Story: 5/5
The many diverse and short moments I spent with the children were effective to build attachment. There are a few odd details in the scenes that made me wonder if the events and characters weren’t symbolical of something else, and I think that was nicely done.
The post-credit testimony is like a “bonus content” explanation of what the game is really about, and in the end, despite the horrible events that I had played, the game left me with a feeling of empathy.
A very personal, creative and touching project.

Gameplay: 3/5
The difficulty started high and ended low, which I think is a misstep. The first chase is brutally difficult and I died about 10 times, which broke the flow of the game a bit.
The first QTE is also the most difficult of the two due to the short time limit. I finished the second QTE with 10 seconds to spare, and the second chase was easier now that I was familiar with the house’s layout and accustomed to the running speed.
Since the trials became progressively easier, it did give me some hope that I could save the last victims, so maybe that’s a positive result depending on what your intention was regarding the gameplay.

Overall: 8/10
In one word: Feels ;_;

Feed your pet

Here are my thoughts!

Overall: 4/5
Well, this game is basically a single dark joke so there isn’t much I can say without spoiling it, but it’s very well executed: the premise is short and effective at misleading the player, the setup is the surprise that something might have gone wrong, and the punchline insists just enough to maximize the comedic effect.
And great use of art and sound. You got a hearty laugh out of me.

I’m going to be strict and take a point away because the game is shorter than the required 10 minutes for the event. But the length of the joke is perfect.

Cuties & Clues

@Deckiller: Much obliged!

Kill the Cutie

The event might have ended, but I fixed a couple of bugs in Cuties & Clues.
It was nothing major but those who want to download the updated version should head to the gamepage: https://rpgmaker.net/games/11790/downloads/

EDIT: oh, it seems that if I update the download on the gamepage, it also updates the entry on the event page?

Cuties & Clues

I'm very happy to receive such detailed feedback and thank you for the bug report as well, Deckiller :D

I overlooked a few issues and had to cut several corners to meet the deadline... but I'm glad that you had fun playing!

I'll try to fix those bugs ASAP.

Kill the Cutie

Of course, I had to struggle for hours trying to fix some major bugs right on the last day.

But I'm happy that Cuties & Clues is now available!

Looking forward to playing everyone else's entries as well.

Kill the Cutie

Cuties & Clues is now playable from start to finish :)

I still have a bit of testing to do before I upload the game, but I'm glad that I managed to make it before the deadline this time (unlike a few years ago when I released my entry in *gasp* December...)

Not bad, I will continue to pay attention

Thanks! I'm confident that the download will be ready before the event's deadline.
