Hi all !
I like 16-bits RPGs (especially action RPGs) where you feel the quest behind the lines of code. I also like strategy, puzzle solving, immersive stories, tabletop RPG and LARP.
I'm a hobbyist C programmer who likes to work on custom game mechanics. My very first project was a very basic map generator for Genesia, aka Ultimate Domain https://rpgmaker.net/users/Irog/locker/UltimateDomainWorld.zip
I also want to help developers polishing their projects with my player feedback. So I'll be happy to test your game !
See you around,
Irog

Hi Tw0Face,
What operating system do you use?
The error messages you reported indicate that the game can't load any of the files located in the folder named "Common".
Once you've decompress the zip archive, the game folder structure should look like:
Tavern/Common/ 39 files
Tavern/Linux/ 8 files
Tavern/Windows/ 8 files
What game folder structure do you have?

Is it really that hard to make a good SRPG that isn't brutally unfair and frusterating?

Hi tlratchford,
I think 800x600 is a good size for screenshots. Most of mine have that size. So anything smaller than or close to 800x600 should get accepted.
Here is what I think would get accepted:
Screenshot13.png Image size: 814x518, File size: 68,9 KB
Screenshot19.png Image size: 800x611, File size: 145,9 KB
Here is how I did it:
I use GIMP but most image editing software will do. GIMP is free & open-source so try it, keep it if you like it.
1) File > Open --> open your screenshot
2) Press "R" to activate the Rectangular selection tool
3) Draw a rectangle that closely surround the game frame without the black side bars
4) Press "Ctrl" + "C"
5) Edit > Past as > New Image
6) (if image size is an issue) Image > Scale Image > set the Width to 800 --> click "Scale"
7) (if file size is an issue) Image > Mode > Indexed... --> click "Convert"
8) File > Export as --> give a file name that ends with ".png" --> click "Export" > Uncheck all option boxes --> click "Export"
Hope it helps you.

Welcome to RMN :-)
"Hello world!" is a great introduction to tell stories through games. Are you into programming ?

How to take a screenshot and submit it to the site
Taking the Screenshot
in Linux (Ubuntu, Lubuntu, ...)
1. Run your project
2. Press Alt + Print Screen
3. Go to your Home Folder: You'll find your screenshot as PNG file. The file name starts with the date in the format yyyy-mm-dd-hhmmss.
in EasyRPG
1. Run your RM2k or 2k3 project in EasyRPG
2. Press F10
3. Go to your project folder: You'll find your screenshot as PNG file. The file name starts with "screenshot_" followed by a number that increase every time you take a screenshot.
Both methods instantly create a new screenshot file every time you press the key(s). This is very handy when you test a game and take a screenshot every time you want to report an issue to the developer.

Put one of your large screenshot in your locker. Post the link here. I'll do the cropping and resizing to give you an example of what a gamepage needs.
