Hey, I've been wanting to play the original! Is the remake mostly a graphical overhaul, or does it contain any significant changes? Would you recommend just playing this over the original?

This looks great, Strak, nicely done! My only advice would be that I’ve found using something other than a circle brush for the dirt paths (things with texture like watercolor brushes, acrylic brushes etc work great) make them look a bit more natural, but it looks great as is.
