The first in any incorporeal step is to rise and become cognizant of your own desires. All walks of life must adhere to this simple concept. Resistance to such is to follow what is laid out before you, progressing infinitely through kalpas created over nonsensical dreamstates. How? Because all paths are laid out regardless of prior choice. The most difficult area in this regard is to accept this as an absolute, and move forward with what is necessary. Defiance is not optional. You only have a single directive – comply.

Long ago, the world was divided into 4 different kingdoms. A chain of events, however, caused one king to disappear, leaving the 3 kingdoms fighting over his lands.

All that is in the past now. Let’s jump 735 years into the future, where two huntresses are on their way to the Nightkeep village, sent by their guild. There’s work waiting for them there, alongside many difficult decisions, which could alter the fate of the entire kingdom. The story will gradually uncover the events that have occurred in the kingdom, the meaning of the Guild of Hunters and also incorporate the already mentioned “rank”.

Humanity has expanded from its ancient cradle to fill the sky with its worlds. At first the expansion came by way of the enigmatic “warp drives” that granted humans the ability to skip between stars. Humanity sent you among other colonists to the darkness above to find new homes to expand mankind faiths, and ideologies.

Using this warp drives technology, humanity decides to launch two fully equipped research spaceships ( The Zion and the Shenzhen) on a mission to find more habitable planets suitable for colonization. But something unexpected happens, and several months after engaging their warp drives, the two spaceships lose communication with each other and the ships' hulls start to lose integrity.

Test your skills in the ancient Dungeon of Monarchs, and uncover the secrets of a missing tribe! Were they buried alive? Or did they make a thriving underground metropolis?

It starts out simply enough. An apprentice at a small-town potion shop is out looking for potion ingredients when she accidentally falls into a cave. With monsters in it. Despite her lacking much combat skill beyond blocking and throwing potions, the apprentice apothecary Brill is thrust into an adventure, with the fate of the entire continent of Ruphand hanging in the balance. It may seem like a story you've heard before. But not everything is quite as it seems in this story...

The player takes a role of Kyleen, where she started looking for some herbs for her Aunt's health. After gathering enough amount of it, she passes by an old house and happened to meet a girl there. Eldritch Law, definitely the highlight for me this month.
I won the RMN 2019 Stanley Cup Playoff Pool. Now I will never stop bragging about it.

I wish to remind the author of this article that only games released in 2018 can be nominated for this year. That would not include Final Fantasy Black Moon Prophecy 2, which only has downloads released in 2017 (not including the fact that the nomination button is not highlighted. Also, it won best fan game and law suit waiting to happen in 2017 already.)

Though I'm seriously impressed with the effort you put into this. Only 11 more to go.
Uploads count. I checked Black Moon Prophecy 2 at the source and the download has been updated since 1/1/2018. Perhaps check the mediafire link (which has, thankfully, dates for checking that kind of thing, thankfully).

That said, removed it since you actually can't nominate it due to the site not reading the new download as updated due to it being linked off-site. If a new update gets added which can allow nominations, I'll add it when that occurs (as long as it's got significant updates and not just bug fixes, as per rules for Misaos).
Game developer for Rosary Of The Reaper.
Liberty doesn't Belieb in me

OrudoPatto, kisama!
Bananas, Bananas everywhere.

Nice article! Impressive how many releases we had in one month alone. That's a really good thing!
I won the RMN 2019 Stanley Cup Playoff Pool. Now I will never stop bragging about it.

I have gone through some of you list and found some potential problems:

1998 was released last year. I checked the downloads and don't see one for this year.

Rxcovery can't be nominated, but I don't know why. The download checks out as this year, so???
Edit: May have edited download, instead of submitting a new one. Date updated, but not in system because edits don't register?????
EditEdit: I just realized that if the game was updated from last year that it might not be eligible anyways. This one might need to personally check out what happened.

Seven Mysteries is a commercial game. (But you already know that because you mentioned it in the description?)

Edit: Nightkeep Commercial game.

Haven't gone through all of them, but have found these.
Okay, weird about 1998 - I could have sworn there was a download for this year but I must have read the date wrong. Not sure what's going on with Rxcovery, though - it's likely the old download was updated instead of a new one added, but hopefully it... recovers.

Just a reminder that just because something was nominated last year doesn't exclude it from being nominatable this year - if a significant update happened then it will count for both years Misaos. This has actually never caused an issue when it came to voting, oddly enough.
My game is here, awesome! Although I still haven't technically marked it as 'complete' yet. That will come later this year.
Great work putting this together, Liberty! Very helpful to streamline the nomination process.
Wow! I'm very happy to be able to have BlueSkies 2 join for the month of January!! ^_^ This is truly an honor, thank you so much! ^____^

Congratulations also to everyone who has released their games on this month!
"nothing can beat the power of gay"?
I think Aria's Story should be in the completed category by the way.

This is super handy though! Guess I'm not gonna need to compile a list of 2018 games for when misaos are here after all.
It wasn't marked as complete in January.

Okay, so in interest of getting talk happening:

The graphics are familiar since they use Mack and other resources available among the different sites, but the mapping is quite well done and the story is interesting. The characterisation is pretty good, too and while battles are a bit of a case of weakness-hunting they're not too bad. I kinda wish you'd do a bit more damage if you hit a weak point so it feels like a reward, but overall I thought the game was pretty good. (I did run across a crash, though.) The weapon changing could have been bound to a key, I think, so that you could fast-change on the map like you do in battle.

I'd probably nominate it for story so far.

The Seven Seals
It's like a low-budget Hero's Realm but there's enough differences there that it doesn't feel like an exact cut'n'paste. That said, it at least does well in the balancing and it's fun to play. If you liked HR, you'll probably like this too.

This game is an argument for demos being in the running for GOTY awards because it's the whole package. It's a fun sidescrolling demon-hunting metroid-like game with great graphics, very good music and just has a great overall feel. Gonna have to nominate this for more than one misao. (Also, I found myself speeding through time while playing this. It's a 'can't put down' type game.)

Journey to Northpass
An interesting little game. Not sure I'd nominate it for anything but it was still interesting to play and while I didn't love it, I found enough in it to actively enjoy what I did play.

I played the IGMC version of this as a judge and frankly, I thought it was quite well done. Luchi has made a pretty great boss battle and I found myself enjoying the gameplay. The story was okay, but a little lacking when it came to flow, I felt, especially with jumps between scenes, but overall it's a neat little game. Try it~

Day Dreaming Derpy
Hella cute and sweet, battle the greatest foe of all... work! With cute uniforms that give you different skillsets and a super adorable town to explore~
Whatever happened to Best of Blogs? ;_;
I had too much on my hands. >.<;
"nothing can beat the power of gay"?
I played and reviewed some of these today and I'm just gonna get some extracts from my reviews for each. The nominations are most likely just temporary and I'll likely change them.

Aria's Story
''Aria's Story is basically a perfect game with only a few minor nitpicks that did not really hinder the experience. It's well worth playing for the visuals alone, but is accompanied by a great story and nice puzzles. ''

I nominated it for best graphics, story, and for game of the year.

''Icebound is a decent game, a little average, but worth spending 30 minutes on. The narrative was kind of weak despite having a good story, and the battles did break the immersion a bit, but the atmosphere and the exploration definetly made it enjoyable.''

Black Ritual
''I would say Black Ritual is a game with good visuals, but not much else. It's very unpolished, confusing, and frustrating. I did not enjoy my experience with the game, but I definetly think the developer could turn this into something good in the teased sequel at the end.''

Eat a Cactus
''Eat a Cactus is a game well worth playing. A lot of the jokes are easy to swallow, even if you aren't an RMN commoner (which is pretty handy. First time I played RMN Christmas Card 2007 I had no idea at all as to what the heck was going on.) ''

Nominated for funniest game.

Sandy and the Christmas Card Caper
''Overall, the game is a pretty great christmas short that I recommend playing if you have 10-15 minutes to spare. Trust me, the dialogue makes it worth it. ''

''Trying is well worth trying if you have an hour (and a half if you get stuck like me ^.^) to spare. Nice graphics and music, lovely dialogue and extremely likeable characters, and somewhat flawed but still enjoyable gameplay.''
I loved 1998 and nominated it last year in more than one category.

From the rest, I should get to play Piano's game and Final Fantasy vs. Dog. I nominated dog in some categories the moment it went up, but i don't think it will last.
I'm interested in playing Aria's Story and maybe Eldritch Law.
A game I might end up both playing and reviewing is Castlevania. There is something very charming about its broken look.
I've been following rebel's work quite some time, so I should finally try Nightkeep out and send him some feedback.
I didn't know my game was here!
Black Ritual
''I would say Black Ritual is a game with good visuals, but not much else. It's very unpolished, confusing, and frustrating. I did not enjoy my experience with the game, but I definetly think the developer could turn this into something good in the teased sequel at the end.''

Can you elaborate? I am curreently working on said sequel and would like to have some feedback as it is still early in the devloppement beside the story wich is already done.
@manpaint, Frogge already reviewed Black Ritual earlier this month.
